African swine fever outbreak detected in Cao Bang.
Besides price fluctuations, information about disease outbreaks is also a major concern for livestock farmers. According to the People's Committee of Thuc Phan Ward, Cao Bang Province, an outbreak of African swine fever has been confirmed in Hanh Phuc residential area. After observing unusual pig deaths on March 24th, test results on March 25th confirmed that the samples were positive for the African swine fever virus.
This outbreak wiped out an entire herd of 51 pigs belonging to one household. Local authorities quickly quarantined the area, destroyed all infected pigs, and implemented disinfection measures in the surrounding region.

Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee of Dam Huy Hoang Ward advised livestock farmers to strictly implement biosafety measures and absolutely not conceal outbreaks or sell sick pigs. Authorities are also strengthening control over transportation and slaughtering activities to prevent the spread of disease.
