The price of fresh flowers skyrocketed during the March 8th holiday.
Flower prices surged during the March 8th holiday, with many promotional programs attracting customers.
At Ho Thi Ky flower market (Ho Chi Minh City), flower prices have increased sharply due to demand exceeding supply, especially during holidays like International Women's Day (March 8th). According to observations, on March 7th, the market saw a large number of customers buying flowers.
Ms. Nguyen Hien, representative of Thanh Dat flower shop, said that purchasing power has increased significantly this year, leading to much higher prices compared to normal days. Roses have tripled in price, ranging from 25,000 to 30,000 VND per stem. Other flowers such as sunflowers and carnations have also increased by about 50%.

To meet demand, the shop offers a wide variety of products with prices ranging from 100,000 to 500,000 VND per bouquet, and some bouquets even costing 2-3 million VND.
The price of imported roses has also increased sharply, from the usual 150,000-200,000 VND per bunch of 50 stems to over 500,000 VND per bunch. Although the number of customers remains high, purchasing power has decreased compared to last year.
Hieu La flower shop also noted a similar trend. Roses are currently priced from 25,000 to 35,000 VND per stem, double the usual price.

Pre-packaged flower bouquets range in price from 500,000 to 3 million VND, with the 500,000 VND price range being the most popular. Besides fresh flowers, gift baskets of succulents priced at 1 million VND per box are also a popular choice due to their elegance and longevity.
Orders for March 7th surged as many businesses sent flowers to partners early, and students also rushed to buy flowers for their teachers before March 8th, which falls on a Saturday. However, it is predicted that purchasing power will decrease slightly on March 8th, but flower prices are unlikely to cool down.
Flower prices double, customers surprised.
Mr. Thanh Truong, an office worker in Ho Chi Minh City, shared that he was quite surprised by the sharp increase in flower prices during this period. Roses sold along Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street (District 1), simply packaged and decorated with a few leaves, cost 50,000 VND per stem, compared to only about 20,000 - 25,000 VND per stem last year.

While surveying rose prices along the streets, he noticed that prices ranged from 30,000 to 50,000 VND per stem, depending on whether the roses were domestic or imported. Finding the individual prices too high, he decided to order a whole bouquet for 600,000 VND.
Supermarkets and fashion stores are offering deep discounts for International Women's Day (March 8th).
Besides fresh flowers, gift items such as cosmetics, jewelry, clothing, shoes, and handbags are also very attractive to customers. Shopping malls, supermarkets, and fashion stores are implementing many attractive promotions and discounts of up to 50%.
