Rice prices today, August 13, 2024: The domestic market saw a slight increase of 50-100 VND/kg for some types of rice. Trading remained stable.
Today, August 13th, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region saw a slight increase for some rice varieties.
The rice market in localities across the Mekong Delta today generally sees strong demand, with farmers offering high prices due to limited supply.
The current price of IR 504 summer-autumn raw rice is 11,550 - 11,650 VND/kg, an increase of 100 VND/kg; the price of finished IR 504 rice is 13,600 - 13,700 VND/kg, an increase of 50 - 100 VND/kg.
At retail markets, rice prices remain unchanged for individual rice varieties. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 30,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice is priced from 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice at 20,000 VND/kg; regular white rice at around 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice at 20,000 - 21,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice at 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice at 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice at 18,500 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice at 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice at 22,000 VND/kg.
Regarding rice, observations in various localities indicate limited supply, farmers are offering high prices, and demand for purchase is quite high.
Specifically, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices today, August 13th, have been adjusted. IR 50404 rice is priced around 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice is priced at 7,400 - 7,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice is priced at 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is priced at 7,650 - 7,800 VND/kg; OM 380 rice ranges from 6,800 - 7,100 VND/kg; Nhat rice is priced at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice is priced at 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg, and Nang Nhen (dried) rice is at 20,000 VND/kg.
The glutinous rice market remained unchanged compared to yesterday. IR 4625 glutinous rice (fresh) is priced at 7,500 - 7,800 VND/kg. Long An glutinous rice (fresh) is priced at 7,400 - 7,600 VND/kg. An Giang glutinous rice (fresh) is priced at 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg.
By-product prices have seen adjustments today. Currently, the price of OM 5451 broken rice remains at 9,400 - 9,500 VND/kg, an increase of 100 - 200 VND/kg; the price of dry rice bran remains stable at 7,250 - 7,350 VND/kg.
According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice is priced at US$435/ton; standard 5% broken rice remains stable at US$562/ton; and 25% broken rice is priced at US$525/ton.
