Rice prices today, January 13th: Market stable, scattered trading of winter-spring rice.
A survey conducted on January 13th showed that rice prices in the Mekong Delta remained stable. Although the winter-spring rice crop has begun to be harvested in some localities, the price level remains firm while trading is relatively quiet.
Today's rice prices (January 13th) in the Mekong Delta region remained relatively stable compared to previous sessions. Reports indicate that both the domestic and export rice markets continue to be stable, while the price of fresh paddy rice at the farm gate remains firm despite slow trading activity.
Prices of raw and finished rice remained stable.
According to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province and the Vietnam Rice system, the prices of various types of raw rice remain largely unchanged. Specifically, Dai Thom 8 rice currently ranges from 8,600 to 8,750 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice remains around 8,500 to 8,600 VND/kg.

For finished rice products, IR 504 is currently trading in the range of 9,500 – 9,700 VND/kg. At retail markets, Nang Nhen rice still maintains the highest price at 28,000 VND/kg, followed by Nhat and Huong Lai rice, both at 22,000 VND/kg.
The fresh rice market maintains its previous price level.
On the rice market, fresh rice prices remained stable today. In An Giang, traders and buyers are still on hold, resulting in quiet trading at the beginning of the week. However, in Can Tho, some areas have begun harvesting the winter-spring rice crop sporadically at stable prices.

In the provinces of Ca Mau, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, and Tay Ninh, buying and selling activity is not very vibrant, with most buyers still observing market developments before making significant investments in the new season.
Export rice prices remain unchanged.
According to data from the Vietnam Food Association, Vietnam's export rice prices remained stable, with no adjustments compared to the end of last week. 5% broken rice is currently being offered at around 420-440 USD/ton. Meanwhile, premium Jasmine rice is fluctuating around 446-450 USD/ton, and 100% broken rice is at 319-323 USD/ton.
In the short term, the rice market is expected to improve as the supply from the Winter-Spring crop officially reaches its peak harvest season and demand from traditional import markets shows signs of returning.
