On the rice market, prices have changed compared to yesterday. Specifically, IR 504 summer-autumn raw rice decreased by 50 VND/kg, currently at 10,500 - 10,700 VND/kg. Finished IR 504 rice also decreased by 50 VND/kg, currently at 12,600 - 12,800 VND/kg.

At retail markets, the retail price of rice has also been adjusted.

Nang Nhen rice has the highest price at 28,000 VND/kg.

Common white rice prices increased by 500 VND/kg, reaching 17,500 VND/kg.

Other types of rice maintained stable prices: regular rice from 15,000 - 17,000 VND/kg, fragrant rice from 17,000 - 23,000 VND/kg, Jasmine rice from 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg, and Nang Hoa rice at 21,500 VND/kg.

According to updated information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices today have not changed much compared to yesterday. Specifically:

IR 50404 rice maintained its price at 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg.

Dai Thom 8 rice is priced at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg.

OM 5451 rice prices increased slightly by 100 VND/kg, currently at 7,200 - 7,400 VND/kg.

The price of OM 18 rice remains unchanged, fluctuating between 7,500 and 7,800 VND/kg.

OM 380 rice is priced at 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg.

Japanese rice prices remain stable at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg.

Nang Nhen rice (dried) is priced at 20,000 VND/kg.

In localities such as Soc Trang and Dong Thap, transactions are slow, with low rice supply and a lack of buyers. The situation in An Giang is similar, with many purchasing warehouses slow to operate, low rice supply, and slightly lower prices.

By-product prices today, October 24, 2024

Prices of various by-products currently range from 5,950 to 9,600 VND/kg. Specifically, the price of OM 5451 broken rice remains stable at 9,500 - 9,600 VND/kg. The price of dry rice bran remains at 5,900 - 6,050 VND/kg.

The glutinous rice market remained unchanged compared to yesterday, with Long An IR 4625 glutinous rice (dry) priced at 9,600 - 9,800 VND/kg. Long An 3-month glutinous rice (dry) maintained a price of 9,800 - 10,000 VND/kg.

Today's export rice prices

On the export market, Vietnamese rice prices remain unchanged. 100% broken rice is priced at $438/ton. 5% broken rice is priced at $534/ton (the highest in Asia). 25% broken rice is at $506/ton.

Compared to Vietnam, Thai 5% broken rice decreased by $7/ton to $511/ton, and the same type of rice from Pakistan decreased by $5/ton to $476/ton (the lowest price on the market).

According to a report from the General Department of Customs, after two consecutive months (March and April) of rice exports exceeding 1 million tons, the figure has recently decreased to around 800,000 tons per month.

In the first nine months of 2024, Vietnam exported 6.96 million tons of rice, an increase of 8.4% compared to the same period last year. The export value reached US$4.35 billion, an increase of 23%.

The majority of rice exports, approximately 5.06 million tons, went to ASEAN countries, accounting for 73% of total exports and increasing by 32.6% compared to the previous year. Conversely, rice exports to China totaled only 241,000 tons, a significant decrease of 72% compared to the same period.
