Rice prices today, September 25, 2024: Rice prices decreased slightly compared to yesterday. Specifically, rice prices decreased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating around 10,750 - 13,000 VND/kg.

In Dong Thap and Soc Trang, the rice harvest is stable and is purchased regularly at market warehouses. In Lap Vo, Dong Thap, the rice harvest is less, the rice quality is uneven and the price fluctuates.
The current market price of rice is decreasing compared to yesterday. Specifically, raw IR 504 Summer-Autumn rice decreased by VND 100/kg, down to VND 10,750 - 10,800/kg, while finished IR 504 rice is priced at about VND 13,000 - 13,200/kg.
At retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged. Nang Nhen rice had the highest price at VND28,000/kg, followed by Jasmine rice at VND18,000 - 20,000/kg, and other types of rice at VND15,000/kg to VND22,000/kg.

IR 50404 rice price ranges from 7,300 to 7,500 VND/kg.
Dai Thom 8 rice costs from 8,000 to 8,200 VND/kg.
OM 5451 rice is priced from 7,600 to 7,900 VND/kg. OM 18 rice is sold for 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg. OM 380 rice is priced from 7,500 to 7,800 VND/kg, down 100 VND compared to before.
Japanese rice costs from 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg.
Dried Nang Nhen rice is sold at 20,000 VND/kg.
By-product price today 9/25/2024
The sticky rice market has slightly decreased compared to yesterday. Specifically, Long An IR 4625 sticky rice (dry) is currently priced from 9,600 to 9,800 VND/kg, a slight decrease of 100 to 200 VND compared to the previous day. Long An 3-month sticky rice (dry) is being sold at 9,800 to 9,900 VND/kg, a decrease of 100 VND compared to yesterday.
For by-products, prices range from 5,800 to 8,600 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken by-product costs from 8,500 to 8,600 VND/kg.
Dried bran is sold at a price of 5,800 to 5,900 VND/kg.
Export rice price today September 25, 2024
Vietnam's rice export prices have been adjusted down compared to yesterday, according to the Vietnam Food Association, with 100% broken rice down $1 to $454 per ton.
According to data from the General Department of Customs, by mid-September, Vietnam had exported nearly 6.5 million tons of rice, earning 4.06 billion USD, up 6% in volume and 21% in value over the same period last year.
Japan is experiencing its first rice shortage since 1999 as people hoard rice amid fears of earthquakes and typhoons. Rice prices in Japan have surged, now more than 30% from a year ago, largely due to the 2023 drought and hoarding by people in August 2024.
Japan imports about 770,000 tons of rice each year, mainly from the US, Thailand, China and Australia, while Vietnamese rice has not met their quality and safety standards.
Tan Long Group is one of the few Vietnamese enterprises that have successfully exported ST25 rice to Japan, meeting more than 600 strict technical standards.
The opportunity for Vietnamese rice in the Japanese market is great due to high demand, but requires contracts and careful preparation of 6-9 months to meet standards.
Vietnam is expanding its rice export markets to new regions such as the Middle East, South America, as well as Japan and South Korea, in addition to traditional markets.
