Rice prices today, December 3, 2024: Paddy prices increased slightly and remained at a high level; milled rice prices remained unchanged. Vietnam's export rice prices remained stable compared to yesterday.
Domestic rice prices
According to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: IR 50404 rice (fresh) ranges from 7,800 - 7,900 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice is priced at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; OM 380 rice is around 7,000 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) is at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice is priced at 8,400 - 8,600 VND/kg; Japanese rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; and Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) ranges from 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg.
In many localities today, rice is being harvested, transactions are sluggish, new buying demand is slow, and prices remain high. In An Giang, the remaining rice supply is insignificant, mainly focusing on fragrant rice, and rice prices are stable. In Kien Giang, rice from shrimp farming areas continues to be offered at higher prices, transactions are slow, and there are few buyers. In Soc Trang, rice harvesting is concentrated in Chau Thanh, My Tu, and Long Phu districts.
Similarly, for rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of IR 504 raw rice fluctuates between 10,200-10,350 VND/kg; and the price of finished IR 504 rice fluctuates between 12,300-12,500 VND/kg.
Observations in various localities today show low quantities, stable transactions, and consistent purchases of fragrant, high-quality rice at high prices. Prices for other types of raw rice remain stable. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), prices for all types of raw rice are stable. In Lap Vo, rice is scarce, but warehouses are consistently buying at firm prices.
At retail markets, rice prices remained stable compared to yesterday. Regular rice fluctuated between 16,000 and 17,000 VND/kg. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg. Fragrant rice is offered at higher prices ranging from 20,000 to 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice at 17,000 to 18,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice at 21,500 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice at 20,000 to 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice at 22,000 VND/kg; common white rice at 17,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice at 21,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice at 18,500 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice at 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice at 22,500 VND/kg.

Prices of various by-products remained stable today compared to yesterday, December 2nd, fluctuating between 5,800 and 9,300 VND/kg. Currently, the price of fragrant broken rice ranges from 9,200 to 9,300 VND/kg; the price of bran ranges from 5,800 to 6,000 VND/kg.
The glutinous rice market remained unchanged today compared to yesterday, December 2nd. Specifically, IR 4625 glutinous rice is currently priced at 8,200 - 8,400 VND/kg; Long An 3-month dry glutinous rice maintained a price of 9,800 - 10,000 VND/kg.
Export rice prices
Vietnamese rice prices today remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, 100% broken rice is currently at $410/ton; standard 5% broken rice is at $522/ton; and 25% broken rice is at $485/ton.
Domestic rice prices are forecast to remain stable, with a slight upward trend in fragrant rice varieties. On the international market, competition among major exporting countries such as Thailand, India, and Pakistan will put pressure on Vietnamese rice prices, especially as China significantly reduces imports.
