In today's rice market, late Summer-Autumn rice is sold at high prices, making farmers very happy.

The 2024 Autumn-Winter rice crop in Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta provinces is in the development stage, from panicle initiation to green maturity, and about to ripen. Many traders and businesses have placed deposits to buy rice at high prices.

According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices today remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically:

IR 50404 rice costs from 7,900 - 8,000 VND/kg. Dai Thom 8 rice costs from 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg.

OM 5451 rice costs from 8,200 - 8,400 VND/kg. OM 18 rice costs from 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg. OM 380 rice costs 7,800 VND/kg.

Japanese rice costs from 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg.

IR 4625 sticky rice is priced from 7,400 to 7,600 VND/kg, unchanged. An Giang sticky rice is priced from 7,000 to 7,200 VND/kg, unchanged.

The current price of agricultural by-products ranges from 6,900 to 9,300 VND/kg. Specifically, OM 5451 rice bran costs from 9,200 to 9,300 VND/kg.

Dry bran prices are stable at 6,900 to 7,000 VND/kg.

Export rice price on September 4, 2024

Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged from yesterday, at $452 per ton for 100% broken rice, $575 per ton for 5% standard rice, and $535 per ton for 25% broken rice.

Vietnam's rice exports showed positive growth, with 6.16 million tons exported in the first 8 months of 2024, reaching a value of nearly 3.85 billion USD.

Compared to last year, rice export prices increased by about 15%, with an average price of 625 million USD/ton. The price of 5% broken rice last week was stable at 578 USD/ton.

Global food shortage and India's ban on rice exports are the main reasons for the increase in export prices of rice.

Vietnamese businesses are increasing rice purchases to meet year-end export demand and expand markets to new regions.

It is expected that Vietnam's rice exports could reach 7.6-8 million tons, earning more than 5 billion USD this year, marking a new record for the agricultural sector.
