Rice prices today, August 5th: Rice prices increased slightly.
Today, August 5th, the price of rice in the domestic market increased by 50-150 VND/kg, while the price of paddy rice remained stable.
Today's rice prices (August 5th) in the Mekong Delta region remained stable, with paddy prices increasing slightly by 50-150 VND/kg. Trading activity was slow, with no major price fluctuations recorded.
In An Cu (Soc Trang) and An Giang: Supply is stable, prices are steady, however, purchasing volume has decreased. Sa Dec (Dong Thap) witnessed a slight price increase due to scarce supply.
Retail markets did not adjust rice prices, with Nang Nhen rice reaching the highest price of 30,000 VND/kg.

Prices for other types of rice such as Jasmine, Nang Hoa, white rice, and Taiwanese fragrant rice range from 15,000 to 21,000 VND/kg.
Japanese rice is priced at 22,000 VND/kg, which is higher than other common types of rice.
In the provinces, rice prices are stable with limited supply and firm prices, and farmers are offering slightly higher prices.
In Can Tho, farmers are offering their autumn-winter rice crop at stable prices, while in Soc Trang, traders are actively seeking to buy it in limited quantities.
According to information from the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, rice prices today remain unchanged compared to yesterday, with IR 50404 at around 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice at 7,400 - 7,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice fluctuating between 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice at 7,500 - 7,700 VND/kg; OM 380 from 6,800 - 7,000 VND/kg; Nhat rice at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 at 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg, and Nang Nhen (dried) rice selling at 20,000 VND/kg.
The glutinous rice market did not see any price adjustments, with Long An glutinous rice (dried) remaining stable at 7,000 - 7,900 VND/kg; IR 4625 glutinous rice (fresh) at 7,200 - 7,400 VND/kg; Long An glutinous rice (fresh) at 7,400 - 7,600 VND/kg; and An Giang glutinous rice (fresh) maintaining the same price of 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg as the previous day.
Rice prices today saw a slight increase compared to yesterday, with IR 504 summer-autumn raw rice rising by 100-150 VND/kg, reaching 11,150-11,300 VND/kg; finished IR 504 rice increased by 50-100 VND/kg, with the new price being 13,250-13,400 VND/kg.
Rice by-products also saw adjustments, with the price of broken rice OM 5451 increasing by 100 VND/kg to 9,100 - 9,300 VND/kg; while the price of dry rice bran remained stable at 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg.

Vietnam's export rice prices remained stable, with 100% broken rice priced at $435/ton, while standard 5% broken rice and 25% broken rice were priced at $559/ton and $524/ton respectively.
According to a report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first seven months of 2024, Vietnam exported 5.18 million tons of rice, earning $3.27 billion, an increase of 25.1% in volume and 5.8% in value compared to the same period last year.
The area planted with rice reached 6.25 million hectares, a slight increase of 0.2% compared to the previous year. The harvested yield reached 3.82 million hectares, an increase of 1.3%, with an average yield of 65.6 quintals/hectare, an increase of 0.5 quintals/hectare.
Total rice production reached 25 million tons, an increase of 2%. This strong growth sets high expectations for Vietnam's rice export industry in the second half of 2024.
