According to updated data from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region remained stable during the morning trading session on May 4, 2026. This stability occurred amidst signs of shrinking supply from local areas as the harvest season draws to a close.

Trends in the price of paddy and raw rice.
In the raw material market, prices of key export rice varieties remain stable. Specifically, IR 504 raw rice fluctuates between 8,400 and 8,450 VND/kg; CL 555 at 8,600 to 8,800 VND/kg; and OM 18 at 8,700 to 8,850 VND/kg. Notably, Dai Thom 8 rice maintains the highest value in this segment at 9,200 to 9,400 VND/kg.

Retail rice market and glutinous rice segment

Fragrant rice varieties such as Huong Lai, Nang Hoa, Japanese rice, and Soc Thai rice fluctuated steadily between 20,000 and 22,000 VND/kg.
In the glutinous rice segment, the price of fresh IR 4625 glutinous rice was recorded at 7,300 – 7,500 VND/kg. Prices for dried glutinous rice, including 3-month-old glutinous rice, remained stable around 9,500 – 9,700 VND/kg.
Export situation and international comparison
In the international market, Vietnamese rice prices are showing differentiation across different broken rice segments. While Vietnamese Jasmine rice is offered at $496-$500 per ton, 5% broken rice fluctuates between $490-$500 per ton.
