Of this, durian continued to be the leading export item, playing a key role in driving growth.

Despite difficulties at the beginning of the year due to increased plant quarantine measures in China, which resulted in some shipments being returned, Vietnam's durian exports quickly recovered strongly from mid-year. The Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association estimates that in September alone, durian export revenue reached 800-900 million USD, a record high.

Coffee prices on October 15, 2025: Arabica surges, robusta slightly declines.

On the morning of October 15th, the domestic coffee market recorded an increase of 600-700 VND/kg, fluctuating around 113,700-114,600 VND/kg. Coffee growing regions in the Central Highlands are preparing for the new harvest season, and the temporarily limited supply is contributing to the slight price increase.

On the world market, arabica prices continued their strong surge on the New York exchange, while robusta prices on the London exchange fell slightly due to profit-taking by investors.

According to observations this morning, coffee prices in the Central Highlands region have uniformly increased by 600-700 VND/kg compared to the previous session.

Dak Nong province recorded the highest price, reaching 114,600 VND/kg, an increase of 600 VND. In Dak Lak, the price of coffee reached 114,500 VND/kg, while Gia Lai recorded 114,200 VND/kg.

Lam Dong province still has the lowest price in the region, but it remains at 113,700 VND/kg.

On the world market, robusta coffee prices on the London exchange reversed course and fell after several consecutive days of increases. The November 2025 contract decreased by $73/ton (-1.59%) to $4,487/ton; the January 2026 contract decreased by $47/ton (-1.04%) to $4,420/ton; while the March 2026 contract decreased by $43/ton (-0.97%) to $4,350/ton.

Conversely, on the New York exchange, arabica coffee prices continued to rise sharply, marking their highest levels in months. The December 2025 contract increased by 14.45 cents/lb (+3.75%) to 399.65 cents/lb; the March 2026 contract increased by 10.85 cents/lb (+2.96%) to 377.80 cents/lb; and the May 2026 contract increased by 9.15 cents/lb (+2.58%) to 363.15 cents/lb.

According to data from the Vietnam Customs Department, coffee exports in September reached 81,100 tons, valued at US$462.3 million, an increase of over 61% in value compared to the same period in 2024. Overall, in the first nine months of 2025, Vietnam exported approximately 1.24 million tons of coffee, earning over US$7.01 billion – far exceeding the US$5.62 billion figure for the whole of 2024.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the sustained high global coffee prices, coupled with an increasing proportion of processed products, have helped the Vietnamese coffee industry achieve impressive growth. The export target of 1.6 million tons and approximately $9 billion in revenue by 2025 is within reach.

Pepper prices on October 15, 2025: Domestic prices decreased slightly.

On the morning of October 15th, domestic pepper prices continued to fall in most key pepper-growing regions, fluctuating between 145,000 and 147,000 VND/kg.

On the international market, pepper prices tend to increase slightly, and Vietnam's pepper exports to China have recorded impressive growth, accounting for more than 40% of that country's import market share.

In the Central Highlands region, pepper prices uniformly decreased this morning. In Dak Lak, the current purchase price is 147,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND compared to the previous trading session. In Gia Lai, the price is even lower, at only 144,500 VND/kg, down 1,500 VND/kg. In Lam Dong, pepper prices also decreased by 1,000 VND, currently fluctuating around 147,000 VND/kg.

The situation in the Southeast region is no better. In Ho Chi Minh City (including the merged Ba Ria - Vung Tau area), pepper prices dropped sharply by 3,000 VND, to 146,000 VND/kg. In Indonesia, Lampung black pepper prices reached US$7,234/ton, up 0.01%, while Muntok white pepper prices reached US$10,093/ton, up 0.02%. In Malaysia, ASTA black pepper prices remained at US$9,500/ton, while white pepper reached US$12,500/ton.

Rice prices on October 15, 2025: The market is quiet.

On the morning of October 15th, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region remained stable, with virtually no significant fluctuations. The domestic market experienced slow trading activity and limited supply.

In localities across the Mekong Delta, rice prices remained unchanged this morning compared to yesterday. In An Giang, trading activity was quite sluggish, with limited supply and many warehouses restricting purchases. In Lap Vo and Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice supplies were sporadic, and prices remained stable. In An Cu (Dong Thap), transactions were minimal, with no price fluctuations.

Raw rice prices in this area remain around the same levels. IR 504 rice currently ranges from 7,900 to 8,100 VND/kg; OM 18 rice from 8,650 to 8,750 VND/kg; CL 555 at 8,100 to 8,200 VND/kg; and OM 5451 around 8,100 to 8,250 VND/kg. Meanwhile, OM 380 rice is being purchased at 7,800 to 7,900 VND/kg.

In the retail market, rice prices remain stable. Jasmine rice is maintained at 22,000 VND/kg; regular rice is around 13,000 – 14,000 VND/kg; Thai fragrant rice fluctuates between 20,000 – 22,000 VND/kg, and Nang Nhen rice still holds the highest position at 28,000 VND/kg.

The glutinous rice segment remained unchanged, with fresh IR 4625 glutinous rice at 7,300 – 7,500 VND/kg and dried glutinous rice at 9,500 – 9,700 VND/kg. By-products such as bran and broken rice also remained stable, fluctuating around 6,850 – 7,250 VND/kg.

In many localities, rice harvesting has slowed down, and new rice trading is proceeding at a reduced pace. In Vinh Long, the harvest is sporadic, and traders are buying less, causing prices to slightly decrease. In An Giang, transactions are infrequent, and the supply of new rice is limited, keeping prices stable. In Can Tho and Ca Mau, traders are mainly waiting for the harvest season, and new transactions are almost non-existent.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, rice prices today remain the same as yesterday. Specifically, OM 18 and Dai Thom 8 (fresh) rice ranges from 5,800 to 6,000 VND/kg; OM 308 rice from 5,700 to 5,900 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 reached the highest level of 6,000 to 6,200 VND/kg; IR 50404 remained at 5,000 to 5,200 VND/kg; and OM 5451 remained stable around 5,400 to 5,600 VND/kg.

According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the price of Vietnamese 5% broken white rice is currently stable at around 373-377 USD/ton, Jasmine rice fluctuates between 486-490 USD/ton, and fragrant 5% broken rice remains at 430-450 USD/ton.

However, rice exports in September 2025 reached only 466,800 tons, equivalent to $232 million, a decrease of 43% in volume and 55% in value compared to the same period in 2024. The main reason is that the Philippines temporarily suspended imports, causing a sharp decline in export volume.

Against this backdrop, Ghana has emerged as Vietnam's largest rice import market, accounting for nearly 22% of total rice exports. Following closely behind are Ivory Coast with 21% and Malaysia with 10%. Overall, in the first nine months of 2025, Vietnam exported approximately 6.8 million tons of rice, generating $3.5 billion in revenue, a decrease of 2% in volume and nearly 20% in value compared to the same period last year.

On the world market, the price of 5% broken white rice from India remains stable at 364-368 USD/ton; Thailand maintains its price at 336-340 USD/ton; while Pakistan fluctuates between 348-352 USD/ton.

In contrast to the stagnation of these countries, Cambodia recorded impressive export results with 596,341 tons of milled rice in the first nine months of the year, generating revenue of $408 million, a 33.7% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth is thanks to the country's efforts in promoting its rice brand and expanding export markets to Europe and China.

This development indicates that the northern market is maintaining a balance between supply and demand, helping to keep prices stable in mid-October.

The Central and Central Highlands regions recorded slight fluctuations, with live pig prices in Dak Lak decreasing by 1,000 VND/kg to 50,000 VND/kg, the same level as Gia Lai – the two localities with the lowest prices nationwide.

Some other localities such as Quang Tri, Da Nang, and Quang Ngai recorded purchase prices at 51,000 VND/kg.

Although the decline is not significant, the regional market is under pressure from high input costs and sluggish consumer demand.

In the South, live pig prices on the morning of October 15th remained stable, fluctuating between 50,000 and 54,000 VND/kg. Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City still have the highest prices, reaching 54,000 VND/kg.
