Clean water prices expected to increase by nearly 20%

According to the report of the Department of Finance, the average clean water consumption price is expected to be adjusted this time to 8,600 VND/m³(increased 19.45% compared to the current price of 7,200 VND/m)³Specifically, the expected average price of clean water in Vinh and surrounding areas is 8,800 VND/m³(increased by 22.22% compared to the current price) and the expected average clean water price in the remaining areas is 7,600 VND/m³(up 5.5%).

The basis for this water price increase comes from the fact that costs such as electricity and raw materials have increased, at the same time, because Vinh City and its vicinity have now changed the source of raw water used, instead of taking it directly from irrigation works, they have now switched to taking raw water provided by Song Lam Joint Stock Company. And according to the roadmap, the maximum raw water purchase price for the first year is 1,950 VND/m³Meanwhile, the current raw water price is only included in the clean water price at 630 VND/m3.

At the meeting, comments from the Departments and branches basically agreed with the new adjusted price, because it did not exceed the state's prescribed ceiling and was not higher than that of neighboring localities.
