The 4-hour candlestick chart shows strong buying pressure on Pi, with long green candles and high trading volume. By 3:45 PM, the price of Pi had surged above $1.70, recording a 23% increase in 24 hours.
The sharp rise of Pi has surprised many cryptocurrency investors, especially since Bitcoin – the cryptocurrency with the largest market capitalization – has only just recovered slightly. Meanwhile, the top 10 cryptocurrencies have yet to show signs of a breakthrough. Currently, Pi Network is the highest-performing cryptocurrency among the top 20 by market capitalization.
Experts warn of the risk of Pi price manipulation.
Dr. Dang Minh Tuan – Chairman of the Vietnam Blockchain Alliance – warned that the Pi development team (PCT) controls up to 90% of the total supply of this cryptocurrency. This could allow them to easily influence the price.
According to him, PCT could secretly sell off its holdings to regulate supply or create new accounts to manipulate prices at will. This is a factor that investors need to pay special attention to when trading Pi.
