Market drivers

According to market analysis, current prices remain stable mainly due to limited supply from the off-season crop, while purchasing warehouses are accelerating their stockpiling to fulfill large orders from China. Even defective durians are trading at relatively high prices, with Grade A defective Thai durians reaching 85,000 – 90,000 VND/kg.

Developing high-tech raw material areas.

To achieve sustainable export goals, the Lam Dong province's agricultural sector is collaborating with businesses to implement a high-tech durian cultivation model in Hoa Bac commune. The model covers 6.3 hectares and involves five households that have already obtained export-oriented cultivation area codes.

The project focuses on standardizing processes from post-harvest care to flowering treatment and monitoring pesticide residues. The application of VietGAP standards and a traceability system is expected to help farmers establish standardized raw material areas, enhancing their competitiveness in the international market.
