Pilot program for trading pork on MXV.
According to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade), on March 25th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade held a meeting on the pilot project for listing and trading pork on the Vietnam Commodity Exchange (MXV). Ho Chi Minh City consumes approximately 13,000-14,000 pigs per day, equivalent to over 25,000 billion VND per year.
The traded product is pork carcasses after slaughter, meeting quality, food safety, and traceability standards. The pilot program is voluntary, operates in parallel with traditional methods, and does not disrupt the supply chain.
Many livestock farming, slaughtering, distribution, and retail businesses are ready to participate. These units propose the synchronized implementation of traceability solutions to ensure transparency.
