Today, January 13th, domestic pepper prices are at 147,000 - 147,500 VND/kg. This represents a sharp decrease of 1,000 to 2,500 VND/kg compared to last week.

The highest pepper purchase price recorded in key pepper-growing regions (Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc) was 147,500 VND/kg.
Specifically, in Dak Nong province, the price of pepper is 147,500 VND/kg. This remains unchanged from yesterday.
In Gia Lai, the price of pepper is 147,000 VND/kg. This remains unchanged from yesterday.
In Dak Lak, the price of pepper is 147,000 VND/kg. This remains unchanged from yesterday.
In Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces, the price of pepper today is 147,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the price of pepper today is 147,000 VND/kg. This remains unchanged from yesterday.
Thus, the lowest price for pepper in the domestic market today is 147,000 VND/kg.

The market just experienced a rather volatile week, with pepper prices rising to their highest level in over three months at 151,000 VND/kg in the middle of the week, but then unexpectedly plummeting towards the end of the week.
In summary, domestic pepper prices decreased by 1,000 – 2,500 VND/kg over the past week.
Specifically, pepper prices in Dak Lak and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces decreased by 2,000 VND/kg compared to last week, falling to 147,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices in other provinces such as Gia Lai, Binh Phuoc, and Dong Nai are also being purchased at 147,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg over the past week.
Meanwhile, pepper prices in Dak Nong saw the sharpest drop, falling by 2,500 VND/kg to 147,500 VND/kg. Even so, this remains the region with the highest prices on the market.
Today's world pepper prices
On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on January 13th (local time) as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday at US$6,841/ton. Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also remained the same as yesterday at US$8,953/ton.
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,350 per ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$8,700/ton. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country also stayed the same as yesterday at US$11,100/ton.
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,350/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) reached US$6,650/ton.
Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday at $9,550 per ton.
The forecast for pepper prices on January 13, 2025 is expected to remain stable at around 147,000 - 149,000 VND/kg. Some areas may see a slight increase of 500 - 1,000 VND/kg, particularly in provinces such as Dak Nong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
On the international market, pepper prices are likely to maintain their upward trend in Malaysia and remain stable in other markets. Increased demand from the US and EU is likely to provide support for export pepper prices.
Farmers should closely monitor the market and avoid panic selling during periods of stable prices. They should also prepare well for large orders during the Lunar New Year holiday.
