Analyzing market trends and import demand.
According to the latest report from IPC, the global pepper market in the second week of 2026 is experiencing mixed trends. In India, prices have fallen slightly due to increased supply from the new harvest. Conversely, in Vietnam, market sentiment remains quite positive, with both domestic and export prices recording increases over the past week.
Regarding consumption demand, the US continues to assert its position as the world's largest pepper importer. Between January and September 2025, the country imported approximately 64,260 tons of pepper. Of this, Vietnam remained the main supplier with 44,550 tons, far surpassing competitors such as Indonesia, India, and Brazil. The stability of the exchange rate and local supply and demand factors are expected to continue driving pepper prices in the short term.
