Pepper prices today, October 19, 2025: Slight and scattered decreases.

Domestic pepper prices remain stable.

Today, October 19, 2025, pepper prices in some key growing regions decreased sporadically by 1000 VND/kg in a few places, bringing the average domestic pepper price to between 144,000 and 146,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak province decreased slightly by 1000 VND/kg, currently standing at 146,000 VND/kg.

Today's pepper price in Gia Lai province remains unchanged at 144,000 VND/kg.

Today, pepper prices in Lam Dong province decreased by 1000 VND/kg, standing at 146,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, today's pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City remain unchanged at 145,000 VND/kg.

Today's pepper prices in Dong Nai province remain unchanged, currently at 145,000 VND/kg.

After a sharp increase in the early days of October, domestic pepper prices have started to stabilize. Compared to the beginning of the week, pepper prices in many key producing regions have decreased by 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg.

According to traders, the supply from farmers is gradually returning to the market, causing pepper prices to show signs of cooling down. However, the decrease is not too significant, indicating that demand remains stable.

According to analysts, next week (from October 21st), pepper prices are likely to fluctuate around 143,000 - 147,000 VND/kg. There are currently no significant factors in the market that could cause pepper prices to rise sharply again.

Despite a short-term downward trend in pepper prices, many experts still assess the medium-term outlook as quite optimistic. This is because farmers no longer have large inventories, while import demand from major markets such as the US, India, and China is expected to increase sharply towards the end of the year.

World pepper prices and influencing factors

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updates the latest pepper prices as of October 19, 2025 as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged at US$7,228 per ton. Similarly, Muntok white pepper prices remained unchanged at US$10,085 per ton.

The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged at $6,100 per ton.

Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remain unchanged at US$9,500 per ton. Similarly, ASTA white pepper prices also remain unchanged at US$12,500 per ton.

Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) remains unchanged at US$6,400/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) remains unchanged at US$6,600/ton.

Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged at $9,050 per ton.

On the international market, the price of Vietnamese pepper (500 g/l) fell by up to $200 per ton this week. Many experts believe that export prices are temporarily stagnating due to a decrease in import demand from regions such as Europe and the Middle East after a period of strong buying in the third quarter. Nevertheless, current pepper prices are still considered the highest in many years.

Previously, the majority of Vietnamese pepper was exported in raw form and dependent on international prices. However, the product structure has now changed significantly. The proportion of white pepper, ground pepper, organic pepper, and packaged pepper is increasing rapidly.

These processed products command prices 20–40% higher than raw black pepper, and can even double if they meet organic standards or international sustainability certifications. As a result, the average export value of Vietnam's pepper industry has increased significantly, benefiting businesses and pepper growers alike.

With increasingly systematic investment, Vietnamese pepper prices are predicted to remain stable and maintain a high position in the region. Focusing on deep processing, expanding markets, and developing organic standards will not only help increase pepper prices but also ensure the sustainability of the entire industry.
