Pepper prices today, July 2nd, 2025: Continuing to rise sharply.
Today, July 2nd, domestic pepper prices are at 138,000 - 142,000 VND/kg. Domestic pepper prices continue to rise sharply by 2,000 to 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Pepper prices are expected to recover strongly in the second half of 2025.
Domestic pepper prices
Today's pepper prices in key growing regions continued to rise sharply compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price is between 138,000 VND/kg and 142,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak increased sharply by 4000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 142,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Gia Lai increased by 2000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 138,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Dak Nong increased by 4000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 142,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, today's pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is 140,000 VND/kg, an increase of 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dong Nai also saw an increase of 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 140,000 VND/kg.
Additionally, today's pepper price in Binh Phuoc increased by 4000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 140,000 VND/kg.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on July 1st (local time) as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices rose slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$7,547/ton (up 0.24%). Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$10,195/ton (up 0.25%).
Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices rose sharply compared to yesterday, reaching $6,050 per ton (up 1.65%).
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,000/tonne. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$11,750/tonne.
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,240/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) reached US$6,370/ton.
Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $8,950 per ton.
Pepper prices are expected to recover strongly in the second half of 2025.
In the short term, domestic pepper prices are forecast to remain low. Many farmers and speculators are still holding onto their stock, not rushing to sell, hoping that prices will recover more strongly in the third and fourth quarters of this year. This hoarding mentality has reduced the supply to the market, somewhat helping to limit the sharp decline.
According to the latest report from Ptexim, demand from major markets such as the US, EU, the Middle East, and especially China is increasing sharply. This development has positively supported pepper prices. In addition, the temporary easing of geopolitical tensions following the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel has also helped the Middle Eastern market recover strongly.
This agreement is expected to open up access to a pepper market worth approximately $180 million. Demand in the Middle East is projected to increase by up to 35% in the third and fourth quarters of 2025, becoming a significant driver for global pepper prices.
Regarding supply, the Brazilian Spice Association recommended temporarily suspending exports during periods of low prices. This move led to many orders being redirected to Vietnam, making our country a key supply point in the global pepper export chain.
Considering both supply and demand factors, experts predict that pepper prices are likely to recover more significantly in the second half of 2025. The current low inventory levels are creating a good foundation for a sustainable price recovery.
