Pepper prices today, December 21, 2025: Domestic pepper prices have slightly increased again, by 500 to 1500 VND/kg. Pepper exports to many markets have recorded strong growth.

Specifically, the price of pepper in Dak Lak is being purchased at 148,500 VND/kg, a slight increase of 500 to 1500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The price of pepper in Chu Se (Gia Lai) is being purchased at 147,000 VND/kg, a slight increase of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The price of pepper in Dak Nong today is recorded at 149,000 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In the Southeast region, the price of pepper in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is currently at 147,500 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg; in Binh Phuoc, the price of pepper today is 148,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
After a sharp increase of 5,000 - 6,500 VND/kg in November due to concerns about supply disruptions caused by storms, floods, and the US adjusting its tariff policy, pepper prices reversed course and fell in December.
As of December 19th, pepper prices in the Central Highlands region ranged from 146,500 to 148,500 VND/kg, 2,500 to 4,500 VND/kg lower than at the end of the previous month. This decrease occurred after the market adjusted to factors that had driven prices up in November.
According to Ms. Hoang Thi Lien, President of the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), the current price adjustment is short-term, and the medium- and long-term outlook for pepper prices remains positive. The association is assessing the impact of extreme weather on the crop in major pepper-producing countries, including Vietnam.
Ms. Lien stated that pepper production could decrease by approximately 5-7%, or even more in some severely affected areas where the plants are difficult to recover and it may take many years to yield a harvest again. Along with this, demand in many markets such as Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia is projected to continue increasing, especially from the service, tourism, and aviation sectors, providing further support for pepper prices in the coming period.
Today's world pepper prices
According to the International Pepper Association (IPC), at the close of the most recent trading session, the IPC listed Indonesian Lampung black pepper at US$6,961/ton and Muntok white pepper at US$9,597/ton.
Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper is priced at $6,075/ton. Malaysian ASTA black pepper is priced at $9,000/ton; the price of Malaysian ASTA white pepper is $12,000/ton.
Today, Vietnamese black pepper is trading at US$6,500/ton for the 500 g/l variety; US$6,700/ton for the 550 g/l variety; and white pepper at US$9,250/ton.
According to data from the Customs Department, in November 2025, Vietnam exported 18,013 tons of pepper, earning $118.5 million. Compared to the same period last year, export volume increased by 14% and value increased by 11.5%, indicating that export activities maintained a positive growth rate.
Pepper exports to many markets recorded strong growth. Egypt stood out with a dramatic increase of approximately 800% in both volume and value compared to the same period. The UAE market also saw significant growth, with export volume increasing by 336% and value by 296%.
In the first 11 months of 2025, pepper exports reached 223,242 tons, a slight decrease of 5% compared to the same period last year. However, export revenue still increased by 24%, bringing in over $1.5 billion, marking the highest revenue ever for the pepper industry.
This result is mainly due to a sharp 30.6% increase in the average export price, from US$5,187/ton to US$6,764/ton. The US continues to be Vietnam's largest pepper market, accounting for 22% of total exports, although this share decreased by 7 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
