Pepper prices today, June 21, 2025: Continue to fall sharply.
Today, June 21st, domestic pepper prices are at 127,500 - 129,000 VND/kg. Domestic pepper prices continue to fall sharply, by 3,000 to 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. China surpassed the US to become the largest pepper import market in the first half of June.
Domestic pepper prices
Today's pepper prices in key growing regions continued to fall compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price is between 123,000 VND/kg and 125,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak has dropped sharply by 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 125,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Gia Lai decreased by 4,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 123,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Dak Nong decreased by 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 125,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, today's pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is 123,000 VND/kg, down 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dong Nai also saw a decrease of 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, now at 123,000 VND/kg.
Additionally, today's pepper price in Binh Phuoc decreased by 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 123,000 VND/kg.
According to preliminary data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in the first 17 days of June 2025, Vietnam exported 11,721 tons of pepper, earning $79.1 million. Unexpectedly, China surpassed the US to become the largest pepper importer during this period.
Specifically, exports to China reached 1,904 tons, slightly higher than the 1,785 tons exported to the US. This development shows that China is becoming a bright spot amidst the slowdown in exports to the US due to concerns about tariff barriers.
The largest exporting companies include Nedspice Vietnam (1,016 tons), Olam Vietnam (804 tons), and Simexco Dak Lak (800 tons).
Conversely, Vietnam also imported 3,711 tons of pepper with a value of 22.2 million USD. Brazil and Cambodia continued to be the two main suppliers, accounting for 1,783 tons and 1,339 tons respectively. Olam Vietnam, Gia Vi Vietnam, and Simexco Dak Lak were the main importing enterprises during the period.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on June 20th (local time) as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$7,461/ton. Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$10,079/ton.
Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,050 per ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,000/tonne. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$11,750/tonne.
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,000/ton; and (550 gr/l) reached US$6,100/ton.
Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,000 per ton.
