Pepper prices today, July 23rd: Domestic pepper prices today are at 136,500 - 138,500 VND/kg, a slight decrease of 500 to 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Domestic pepper prices are currently fluctuating, with expectations of a breakthrough towards the end of the year.

Today's pepper prices in key growing regions have slightly decreased compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price is between 136,500 VND/kg and 138,500 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak decreased slightly by 1500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 138,500 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Gia Lai decreased by 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 136,500 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Lam Dong decreased by 2000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 138,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, the price of pepper in Ho Chi Minh City today is 137,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Additionally, today's pepper price in Dong Nai decreased by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 137,000 VND/kg.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on July 22nd (Hanoi time) as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices rose slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$7,144/ton (up 0.14%). Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also decreased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$9,986/ton (up 0.14%).
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper increased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching $6,000 per ton (up 3.33%).
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$8,900/ton. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country remained stable at US$11,750/ton.
Prices of various types of Vietnamese pepper remained stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,440/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) reached US$6,570/ton.
Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday, at $9,150 per ton.
According to experts, domestic pepper prices are currently fluctuating. Supply is scarce, but purchasing power has not really picked up. Many businesses are still waiting for more positive signals from the two major markets, China and Europe, hoping for a breakthrough in the last quarter of the year.
On the international market, pepper prices remain high, creating opportunities for Vietnamese pepper if demand recovers. However, in the medium and long term, experts believe that pepper prices will continue to fluctuate within a narrow range. Nevertheless, if the export market becomes more active in the fourth quarter, a price recovery is still entirely possible.
From a business perspective, many traders acknowledge that although inventory levels are low, purchasing power remains weak, creating significant pressure on the market. Export businesses are currently in a wait-and-see mode, not rushing to make large purchases as signals from major markets are still unclear.
According to preliminary data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in the first 17 days of July 2025, Vietnam exported 10,808 tons of pepper, earning $70.3 million. Compared to the same period last month, export volume decreased by 7.8% and export value decreased by 11.1%.
The main export markets remain the US with 1,472 tons, the UAE with 1,290 tons, and China with 1,072 tons. However, the average export price during this period was only $6,500 per ton, a significant decrease compared to the average of $6,881 per ton in the first six months of the year.
