Pepper prices today, May 24, 2025: Record sharp drop.
Today, May 24th, domestic pepper prices are at 146,000 - 147,000 VND/kg. Pepper prices have dropped sharply by a record 4,000 to 5,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The UK is the fastest-growing market among the top 10 largest pepper importing countries of Vietnam.
Today's pepper prices in the domestic market (May 24, 2025)
Today's pepper prices in some key growing regions have dropped sharply to a record low compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price is between 146,000 VND/kg and 147,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak has dropped sharply by 5,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 146,500 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Gia Lai decreased by 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 146,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Dak Nong decreased by 5,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 146,500 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, today's pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is 146,000 VND/kg, down 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dong Nai also saw a decrease of 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, now at 146,000 VND/kg.
Additionally, today's pepper price in Binh Phuoc decreased by 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 146,000 VND/kg.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on May 21st (local time) as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices rose slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$7,432/ton (up 0.15%). Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also increased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$10,134/ton (up 0.15%).
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,650 per ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices fell slightly compared to yesterday, currently at US$9,150/ton (down 0.54%). Additionally, ASTA white pepper prices also decreased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$11,850/ton (down 0.42%).
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) is 6,700 USD/ton; and the price of 550 gr/l is 6,800 USD/ton.
Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,700 per ton.
According to a report from the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in the first four months of 2025, the UK was the fastest-growing market among the top 10 largest pepper importing countries of Vietnam.
According to statistics from the Customs Department, Vietnam exported 2,330 tons of pepper to the UK, earning $17.05 million. Compared to the same period last year, the export volume increased by 22.7% and the value nearly doubled, achieving a growth rate of 97.9%.
The average export price to the UK market reached US$7,308 per ton, 61.23% higher than the same period last year and also far exceeding the overall average price of Vietnamese pepper.
In the first quarter of 2025, Vietnam mainly exported ground black pepper to the UK, accounting for more than half of the total volume and value. Whole black pepper accounted for nearly 25%, while ground white pepper accounted for about 17% in volume and over 20% in value.
Most types of pepper exported to the UK saw growth in volume, except for ground white pepper which decreased slightly by 0.3%. Notably, black pepper exports surged by 206.1%, and white pepper, despite its small share, recorded a dramatic increase of 3,033% in the first quarter.
According to the International Trade Centre (ITC), total UK pepper imports in the first quarter of 2025 reached 2,700 tonnes, valued at $20.25 million, representing increases of 12.2% and 48.9% respectively compared to the same period last year.
Vietnam is the largest supplier, accounting for 56% of the total volume and nearly 60% of the total value of UK pepper imports. In the first three months of the year, the UK imported 1,513 tons of pepper from Vietnam, equivalent to $12.1 million, an increase of 10.2% in volume and 67% in value.
In particular, the import price of pepper from Vietnam into the UK market reached US$7,973 per ton, an increase of 54.5% — the highest increase among the major suppliers to the UK.
