Domestic pepper prices

Today's pepper prices in key growing regions remained unchanged compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price is between 136,500 VND/kg and 138,500 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 138,500 VND/kg.

Today's pepper price in Gia Lai remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 136,500 VND/kg.

Today's pepper price in Lam Dong remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 138,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, the price of pepper in Ho Chi Minh City today is 137,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

In addition, the price of pepper in Dong Nai today remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 137,000 VND/kg.

Today's pepper prices (July 25th) on the world market.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on July 24th (Hanoi time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices rose slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$7,154/ton (up 0.08%). Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also decreased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$10,001/ton (up 0.08%).

The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,000 per ton.

Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$8,900/ton. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country remained stable at US$11,750/ton.

Prices of various types of Vietnamese pepper remained stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,440/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) reached US$6,570/ton.

Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday, at $9,150 per ton.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the UK is emerging as Vietnam's fastest-growing pepper export market. It is considered a market with great potential in the future.

Data from the International Trade Centre (ITC) shows that in the first four months of 2025, the UK imported 3,800 tonnes of pepper worth $28.5 million. This represents a 12.9% increase in volume and a 48.3% increase in value compared to the same period last year. Notably, in April alone, imports reached 1,140 tonnes, valued at $8.3 million.

The average import price in the first four months of the year reached US$7,428 per ton, an increase of 31.3% compared to the same period in 2024. In April alone, the average price was US$7,284 per ton, an increase of 28.3%.

The Import-Export Department believes that Vietnamese pepper is increasingly asserting its position in the UK market and has many opportunities to expand its market share thanks to its superior advantages in supply, price, and trade policies.

Vietnam currently accounts for over 35% of the global pepper export market share, ensuring an abundant, stable, and continuous supply for the UK market. With its large production volume, Vietnam can easily fulfill large-scale orders, a crucial requirement for retail systems in the UK.

In terms of price, Vietnamese pepper is significantly cheaper than Indonesian pepper (around US$10,509/ton) while its quality is steadily improving. This is particularly attractive to UK businesses and supermarket chains seeking a product with consistent quality at a reasonable price.

In particular, Vietnam also benefits greatly from the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA). Tax exemptions and the removal of non-tariff barriers are advantages that major competitors like India or Brazil do not have when exporting to the UK.

Currently, Vietnamese organic pepper is becoming increasingly popular in the UK. British consumers tend to choose natural spices, free of additives, with organic certification and clear origins. These are factors that Vietnam is gradually meeting through the development of certified raw material areas.
