Pepper prices today, April 26, 2025: The upward trend has stalled again.
Today, April 26th, domestic pepper prices are at 155,500 - 157,000 VND/kg. Pepper prices have stopped rising and remain unchanged from yesterday. Importers still have stock in their warehouses, so they are waiting for more attractive price reductions before deciding to buy more.

Today's pepper prices in some key growing regions remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Therefore, the average domestic pepper price is between 155,500 VND/kg and 157,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 157,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Gia Lai remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 155,500 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Dak Nong remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 157,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, today's pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is 156,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. Dong Nai also remains unchanged from yesterday at 156,000 VND/kg.
Additionally, today's pepper price in Binh Phuoc remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 156,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices in key growing regions remained stable today compared to yesterday. According to Ms. Phung Thu Huyen, Director of Nam International Co., Ltd., the number of new export orders is currently quite low. Even with the US market, which once had high demand, deliveries are now only being made under existing contracts, with no strong buying surge to take advantage of the 90-day tariff deferral.
Therefore, domestic pepper prices have recently tended to stagnate. Importers still have stock in their warehouses, so they are waiting for more attractive prices before deciding to buy more.
From the growers' perspective, most farmers are currently reluctant to sell until prices reach their expectations. They are hoping for prices between 160,000 and 180,000 VND/kg, and in some places even 200,000 VND/kg, resulting in a lack of coordination between buyers and sellers.
Ms. Huyen added that most pepper farmers now have additional income from other crops such as coffee, durian, or cocoa, so they feel less pressure to sell immediately after harvest. Besides, pepper is an easy-to-preserve agricultural product, allowing farmers to proactively hold onto their stock until prices rise. This is an advantage that helps them maintain stability in pepper production and business.
Despite a slowdown in domestic trade, exports remain vibrant. According to data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in the first half of April alone, Vietnam exported 10,413 tons of pepper, earning approximately 72 million USD.
Exported pepper products are diverse, including whole black pepper, ground black pepper, whole white pepper, ground white pepper, and even pickled pepper. Each type is produced to suit the specific processing requirements of different international markets.
The pepper processing process is also carried out meticulously and professionally. Starting with black pepper purchased in bulk from farmers, businesses clean and sort it by size, then further process it into various forms such as white pepper, ground pepper, or premium products. The goal is to meet the increasingly stringent standards of export markets worldwide.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on April 25th (local time) as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$7,102/ton. Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,612/ton.
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,900 per ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,300/tonne. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country remained stable at US$11,900/tonne.
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,800/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) reached US$6,900/ton.
Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,800 per ton.
