Today's pepper prices in the domestic market (April 27, 2025)

Today's pepper prices in some key growing regions have slightly decreased compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price ranges from 154,500 VND/kg to 156,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak decreased slightly by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 156,000 VND/kg.

Today's pepper price in Gia Lai decreased by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 154,500 VND/kg.

Today's pepper price in Dak Nong decreased by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 156,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, today's pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is 155,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dong Nai also saw a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, now at 155,000 VND/kg.

Additionally, today's pepper price in Binh Phuoc decreased by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 155,000 VND/kg.

According to data from the Customs Department, in the first half of April 2025, Vietnam exported 11,291 tons of pepper, earning $78.4 million. Compared to the second half of March, export volume decreased by 1.6% and value decreased by 2.9%. However, compared to the same period last year, while volume decreased by 16.2%, value increased sharply by 34.2%.

From the beginning of the year until April 15th, Vietnam exported 58,561 tons of pepper, earning $403 million. Despite a sharp 16.6% decrease in production compared to the same period in 2024, the export value still increased by 37%.

The average export price from the beginning of the year reached US$6,882/ton, an increase of 64.3% compared to the previous year. In the first half of April alone, the average price reached US$6,947/ton, a slight decrease of only 1.3% compared to the end of March, but still 60% higher than the same period last year.

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), despite the high pepper prices this year, the area for replanting has not increased significantly due to a shortage of new land and farmers prioritizing crops with higher economic value. Therefore, the area for pepper production in 2025 is not expected to expand much.

Pepper exports in the second quarter and the coming period are expected to face many difficulties. High pepper prices are putting financial pressure on both exporters and importers, while changes in US tax policies are also affecting the signing of contracts for long-term deliveries.

To maintain export momentum, businesses need to strengthen their access to the EU, India, and the Middle East markets, while also investing in deep processing and building brands for Vietnamese pepper products.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on April 26 (local time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices rose slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$7,126/ton (up 0.34%). Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also increased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$9,643/ton (up 0.32%).

The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,900 per ton.

Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,300/tonne. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country remained stable at US$11,900/tonne.

Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,800/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) reached US$6,900/ton.

Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,800 per ton.
