Pepper prices today, July 27th: Today's pepper prices are at 136,000 - 138,000 VND/kg. Dak Lak pepper prices decreased slightly by 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Current pepper prices remain high, nearly double that of the same period last year.
Domestic pepper prices
Today's pepper prices in key growing regions remained unchanged compared to yesterday, except in Dak Lak. As a result, the average domestic pepper price is between 136,000 VND/kg and 138,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak decreased slightly by 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 138,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Gia Lai remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 136,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Lam Dong remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 138,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, the price of pepper in Ho Chi Minh City today is 137,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.
In addition, the price of pepper in Dong Nai today remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 137,000 VND/kg.
According to a preliminary report by the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), the first six months of 2025 saw a slight increase in global pepper consumption despite a decrease in supply compared to 2024.
Pepper prices are currently high, nearly double that of the same period last year, encouraging many countries to expand their planting areas. However, the supply from these new areas can only compensate for the current shortage after 2-3 years, and will not solve the existing problem.
Unlike previous years, this year farmers in pepper-producing countries are not selling off their harvest prematurely because high prices have given them a more stable source of income. This contributes to maintaining stable pepper prices and reinforces expectations that prices will continue to remain high in the near future.
Although US tariffs have a certain impact on trade, the biggest problem currently facing Vietnam's pepper exports is the lack of specific guidelines for the application of the Value Added Tax (VAT) Law. This situation makes it difficult for businesses to declare taxes, slows down transactions, and temporarily dampens the domestic market.
Once tax regulations are clarified, pepper prices are expected to recover thanks to strong demand from international markets. This opens up positive prospects for the Vietnamese pepper industry in the remaining months of the year.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on July 26th (Hanoi time) as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$7,136/ton. Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,975/ton (down 0.26%).
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $5,900 per ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$8,900/ton. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country remained stable at US$11,750/ton.
Prices of various types of Vietnamese pepper remained stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,440/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) reached US$6,570/ton.
Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday, at $9,150 per ton.
