Pepper prices today, October 28, 2025: Domestic pepper prices have increased again by 1000 to 2000 VND/kg. Germany's pepper imports have increased significantly, with Vietnam leading in supply.

Today, October 28, 2025, pepper prices in some key growing regions have increased again compared to yesterday, bringing the average domestic pepper price to between 143,000 and 145,000 VND/kg. Specifically:
In Dak Lak today, pepper is trading at 145,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
The price of pepper in Dak Nong (Lam Dong province) is 145,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Today, the price of pepper in Gia Lai is being purchased at 143,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Traders in Dong Nai are selling pepper at 144,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
The price of pepper in Ba Ria - Vung Tau (Ho Chi Minh City province) is 144,000 VND/kg; an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Meanwhile, traders in Binh Phuoc (Dong Nai province) continue to trade at 144,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Pepper farmers nationwide are entering the final stages of crop care, preparing for the 2025-2026 harvest, expected to begin in late November. As new supply enters the market, prices may decrease slightly by around 1,000-2,000 VND/kg, but overall, the trend remains positive due to stable demand.
The long-term outlook for Vietnamese pepper is considered positive as import demand from China, India, and Europe recovers. Businesses expect the fourth quarter of 2025 to be a favorable time to expand orders, creating momentum for export growth in 2026.
According to data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in the first half of October 2025, Vietnam exported 9,056 tons of pepper, earning $59.9 million, a slight decrease compared to September. From the beginning of the year to October 15th, total exports reached 197.1 thousand tons, bringing in $1.33 billion.
Although exports remained stable, both domestic and international pepper prices decreased in October compared to the previous month. This is considered a necessary adjustment period after a prolonged upward trend, helping the market rebalance and laying the groundwork for a new surge at the end of the year.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updates the latest pepper prices as of October 28, 2025 as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices rose 0.1% to $7,211 per ton. Similarly, Muntok white pepper prices increased 0.09% to $10,061 per ton.
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged at $6,100 per ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remain unchanged at US$9,375 per ton. Similarly, ASTA white pepper prices also remain unchanged at US$12,400 per ton.
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) remains unchanged at US$6,400/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) remains unchanged at US$6,600/ton.
Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged at $9,050 per ton.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), citing data from the ITC, Germany imported 1,944 tons of pepper in August 2025, a decrease of 37.1% compared to the previous month. Vietnam remained the largest supplier with 1,045 tons, followed by Brazil and India. Despite the short-term decline, Germany maintained a high demand for Vietnamese pepper.
By the end of August 2025, Germany had imported 20,695 tons of pepper, a 10.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Vietnam accounted for 60.1% of the market share with 12,607 tons, a 7.1% increase. Brazil reached 4,578 tons, accounting for 21.8% and increasing by 30.5%, while India only reached 680 tons, a decrease of 18.6%.
Germany is currently the largest pepper consumer market in Europe and ranks 5th globally, with a demand of approximately 28,000-30,000 tons per year. Vietnam holds the position of the number one supplier, accounting for more than half of the import market share, affirming the leading role of the Vietnamese pepper industry in the international market.
In 2024, Germany imported nearly 15,000 tons of pepper from Vietnam, a 58.2% increase compared to 2023, accounting for 5.8% of Vietnam's total pepper export value. This result shows that the German market continues to be an important destination with significant potential for Vietnam's pepper industry in the future.
