Pepper prices today, June 29, 2025: Record sharp increase.
Today, June 29th, domestic pepper prices are at 128,000 - 133,000 VND/kg. Domestic pepper prices have increased sharply by a record 1,000 to 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. China has significantly increased pepper imports, and Vietnam needs a well-structured strategy to maintain its market share.
Domestic pepper prices
Today's pepper prices in key growing regions have surged to record highs compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price ranges from 128,000 VND/kg to 133,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak increased sharply by 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 133,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Gia Lai increased by 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 131,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Dak Nong increased by 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 133,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, today's pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is 133,000 VND/kg, an increase of 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dong Nai also saw an increase of 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 133,000 VND/kg.
Additionally, today's pepper price in Binh Phuoc increased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 128,000 VND/kg.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on June 27th (local time) as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$7,528/tonne. Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$10,169/tonne.
Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $5,850 per ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,000/tonne. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$11,750/tonne.
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) is 5,800 USD/ton; and the price of 550 gr/l is 5,900 USD/ton.
Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $8,800 per ton.
China significantly increases pepper imports; Vietnam needs a well-structured strategy to maintain market share.
In the first five months of this year, China imported over 4,000 tons of pepper, equivalent to $25.5 million, a significant increase in both volume and value compared to the same period last year. Indonesia continued to be the largest supplier with over 2,200 tons, accounting for more than half of the total imports. Vietnam ranked second, with over 1,280 tons; although the volume increased, its market share slightly decreased, mainly due to a sharp 62% increase in Vietnam's export price, significantly higher than that of Indonesian pepper.
In addition, China has also increased imports from other markets such as Brazil and Malaysia. However, China's domestic consumption only meets about 20-30% of its needs, with the remainder depending on imports.
Nevertheless, exporting Vietnamese pepper to China remains challenging due to tightened border controls and high costs associated with sea transport, while Chinese importing businesses are still hesitant.
With China being a crucial consumer market with demand reaching 90,000-100,000 tons annually, the Vietnamese pepper industry is facing the challenge of reorganizing its export activities in a more professional manner to increase market share, competitiveness, and enhance its position in this promising market.
