Domestic pepper prices
Pepper prices in key growing areas today increased to the highest level in the past 4 months. Thereby, the domestic pepper price level is from 149,500 VND/kg to 152,000 VND/kg.

In addition, pepper price today in Dong Nai (formerly Binh Phuoc) increased by 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 150,000 VND/kg.

Domestic pepper prices have recently increased sharply to a four-month high. According to a VPSA member, the main reason is that we are at the end of the season. The pepper harvest ended in May, most small farmers have sold all their pepper because they are unable to store it. Only large producers with financial means can keep their goods and sell them in batches.
The demand for pepper in the world is increasing in preparation for the year-end festivals. In addition, the US's imposition of a 50% tax on goods from Brazil has also created a competitive advantage for Vietnamese pepper. Thanks to that, the domestic pepper price has exceeded 150,000 VND/kg.
Vietnam has a big advantage in terms of lower export tax rates compared to other suppliers, along with stable supply capacity. This is a solid basis to expect that pepper exports to the US market will recover strongly in the second half of 2025.
Overall, the domestic pepper industry is enjoying double benefits: domestic prices are rising while exports remain stable and international demand remains strong. This is a very positive signal after many years of fluctuations.
Pepper price today August 29 in the world market
In the world market, based on quotes from exporting enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on August 28 (local time) as follows:

According to forecasts from experts and the Import-Export Department, world pepper prices will continue to increase in the last months of the year. Major markets, especially the US, are forecast to increase purchases again. Currently, US importers are actively lobbying the government to reduce taxes to 0% because they are completely dependent on imported pepper sources.
However, these efforts have not yet yielded results. Importing businesses in the US are still subject to the full current tariffs. This directly affects the costs and prices of products.
Regarding the export situation, Vietnam's pepper export turnover in the first half of August reached 71.8 million USD. The total export value from the beginning of the year to August 15 has reached 1.06 billion USD. This is an impressive figure when this industry has reached 1 billion USD after only 7.5 months.
Pepper export prices have improved thanks to the increase in the domestic market. Limited supply is considered a key factor helping pepper prices remain high. The 2025 harvest has ended with an estimated output of 180 thousand tons, 10 thousand tons lower than the previous year.
