Today, September 30, 2024, the price of pepper ranges from 147,500 to 149,000 VND/kg, with domestic pepper prices slightly increasing by 1,000 to 1,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Specifically, the price of pepper in Dak Lak is being purchased at 148,000 VND/kg, a slight increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The price of pepper in Chu Se (Gia Lai) is also being purchased at 148,000 VND/kg, a slight increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The price of pepper in Dak Nong today is recorded at 147,500 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper prices today increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Specifically, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the price is currently 148,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg from yesterday; in Binh Phuoc, the price is 149,000 VND/kg.

Experts predict that domestic pepper prices may rise due to several factors. Currently, pepper trading volume is not high, but it is expected to increase in the last months of the year to meet the shopping demand for the Lunar New Year.
Vietnamese pepper prices are likely to rise due to high demand during the Lunar New Year holiday. PTEXIM Corp, a leading Vietnamese pepper exporter, said China has begun buying more white pepper after Typhoon Yagi damaged white pepper growing areas in Hainan.
It is anticipated that the supply of white pepper in China will face difficulties due to increased demand in the last quarter of the year and during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Today's world pepper prices
According to the International Pepper Association (IPC), at the close of the most recent trading session, the IPC listed Indonesian Lampung black pepper at US$6,942/ton and Muntok white pepper at US$9,430/ton.
Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper is priced at US$6,750/ton. Malaysian ASTA black pepper remains stable at US$8,800/ton; Malaysian ASTA white pepper is priced at US$11,200/ton.
Vietnamese black pepper prices remained stable at high levels today, trading at US$6,800/ton for the 500 g/l variety; US$7,100/ton for the 550 g/l variety; and white pepper at US$10,150/ton.
The Vietnam Import-Export Department predicts that pepper prices will remain stable at a high level in the short term due to limited supply. Brazil and Indonesia, two major pepper-producing countries, are currently in their harvest season, but global demand has not increased significantly, and China is not importing much, so prices are expected to rise only slightly.
In the long term, Vietnam's export pepper prices may remain stable due to forecasts of reduced production in the 2025 crop year. The 2025 pepper crop in Vietnam is expected to be harvested mainly in February, and may extend into March and April, 1-2 months later than usual due to drought, reducing supply.
The Import-Export Department also predicts that the Vietnamese pepper industry will benefit from high export prices due to reduced supply. The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) stated that the current amount of pepper is very low, remaining only in dealers and enterprise warehouses.
