Analysis of pepper market trends
Data from IPC shows that the global market remained stable at the end of March. Price changes were mainly due to individual supply conditions and exchange rate fluctuations in each country.
- India and Sri Lanka:Domestic and export prices have been adjusted due to the depreciation of the local currency against the USD.
- Indonesia:Trading activity stabilized after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, keeping prices steady.
- Malaysia:Export prices rose slightly thanks to sustained strong demand from overseas markets.
- Vietnam:Domestic prices have adjusted downwards, but export prices have remained stable, demonstrating the resilience of global demand.
- Other areas:Brazil, Cambodia, and China showed no significant changes, reflecting a state of supply and demand equilibrium.
Regarding exports, in 2025 Greece imported a total of 1,388 tons of pepper. Vietnam continued to maintain its position as the number one supplier with a volume of 1,058 tons, far exceeding other suppliers such as Romania, Germany, and India.
