Domestic pepper prices

Today's pepper prices in key growing regions have reversed course and fallen sharply compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price is between 140,000 VND/kg and 145,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak has dropped sharply by 2000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 145,000 VND/kg.

Today's pepper price in Gia Lai remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 140,000 VND/kg.

Today's pepper price in Dak Nong has dropped sharply by 7,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 140,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, today's pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is 141,000 VND/kg, down 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dong Nai also saw a decrease of 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, now at 141,000 VND/kg.

Additionally, today's pepper price in Binh Phuoc decreased by 4000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 141,000 VND/kg.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on July 3rd (local time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices rose slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$7,539/ton (up 0.17%). Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also increased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$10,184/ton (up 0.17%).

Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,050 per ton.

Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,000/tonne. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$11,750/tonne.

Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,240/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) reached US$6,370/ton.

Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $8,950 per ton.

Agricultural exports surge, Vietnam and US reach new trade agreement.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the total value of Vietnam's agricultural, forestry, and fisheries exports and imports is estimated to reach US$57 billion in the first six months of 2025.

Of that total, agricultural exports reached approximately $18.3 billion, an increase of 16.8% compared to the same period last year. Notably, 9 out of 11 product groups maintained growth momentum, including coffee, rubber, pepper, cashew nuts, livestock, seafood, wood and wood products.

At 9:25 PM on July 2nd (Hanoi time), US President Donald Trump announced on the social media platform Truth Social that he had just reached a new trade agreement with Vietnam. He called it a major step forward in cooperation between the two countries. According to the agreement, Vietnamese goods exported directly to the US will be subject to a 20% tariff, while goods in transit will be subject to a 40% tariff.

Earlier, General Secretary To Lam had a phone call with President Donald Trump to discuss bilateral relations and reciprocal tariffs between the two countries. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in Vietnam-US relations in recent times.

During the exchange, General Secretary To Lam and President Trump welcomed the results of the negotiations between the two delegations, agreeing on a Joint Statement on the Framework for a Reciprocal, Fair, and Balanced Trade Agreement. President Trump highly appreciated Vietnam's commitment to opening its market to American goods, especially large motor vehicles.

He also affirmed that the US would significantly reduce reciprocal tariffs on many Vietnamese exports, and committed to continuing cooperation to resolve trade obstacles between the two countries, especially in priority areas.
