Pepper price today, September 8, is at 150,000 - 152,000 VND/kg. Overall for the week, only Gia Lai pepper price decreased slightly by 1,000 VND. The average export pepper price increased sharply.

Pepper prices today in key growing areas remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Accordingly, the domestic pepper price level is from 150,000 VND/kg to 152,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak remained unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 152,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Gia Lai is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 150,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Lam Dong (former Dak Nong) is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 152,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper price today in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is currently at 151,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. Dong Nai is unchanged from yesterday at 151,000 VND/kg.

In addition, today's pepper price in Dong Nai (formerly Binh Phuoc) remained unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 151,000 VND/kg.

Domestic pepper prices turned down at the end of the week, erasing all the gains made in the first days of the week. Overall, for the week, only Gia Lai pepper prices decreased by VND1,000/kg compared to the previous week, reaching the lowest level in the market.

Accumulated from the beginning of the year to the end of August 2025, the total pepper export turnover reached 1 billion 127.8 million USD, up 28% over the same period last year, but the export volume decreased by 9.4%. The main reason comes from the sharp increase in the average export price of pepper. Specifically, the price of black pepper reached 6,666 USD/ton and the price of white pepper reached 8,732 USD/ton. These prices increased by 41.5% for black pepper and 38.0% for white pepper compared to the same period in 2024.

In terms of markets, the United States continues to be the largest export market for Vietnamese pepper, accounting for 21.4% of the market share. However, exports to this market in the first 8 months of the year were estimated at 35,697 tons, down 31.1% over the same period. Although there was a recovery in August, it was still not enough to make up for the decline in the first months of the year.

In addition to the United States, other major markets also recorded mixed developments. The Chinese market had an impressive growth of 58.3%, reaching 13,282 tons and accounting for 8% of the market share. Markets such as the UAE (12,886 tons, up 9.7%) and India (10,335 tons, up 13.7%) also had positive growth. In contrast, exports to Germany decreased by 27%, reaching 8,780 tons.

Pepper price today September 8 in the world market

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of pepper of all types traded in the international market on September 7 (local time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,086 per tonne. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $10,042 per tonne.

Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices were unchanged from yesterday at $6,600/tonne.

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,700/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price also remained unchanged from yesterday at $12,900/ton.

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,240 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,370 USD/ton.

In addition, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,150/ton.

At the end of last week, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper down 1.8% (130 USD/ton) compared to the previous week. In contrast, the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 skyrocketed 3.13% (200 USD/ton).

In Malaysia, the price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper and the export price of Vietnamese black pepper remained stable. At the same time, the price of Indonesian Muntok white pepper increased by 0.14% (14 USD/ton). Meanwhile, the export price of Vietnamese white pepper and Malaysian ASTA white pepper remained stable throughout the past week.
