By the end of 2024, Vietnam's pepper growing area will reach 110,500 hectares, with an average yield of 26 quintals/hectare, twice the world average. Total output will reach about 200,000 tons.

Vietnam continues to maintain its leading position in the world pepper industry, accounting for 35% of total global output and nearly 55% of total export turnover.

At the Vietnam Pepper and Spices International Conference 2025, experts said that erratic weather is affecting crops in many major pepper producing countries such as Brazil, India and China.

As a result, global pepper production in 2025 is forecast to continue to decline to 434,000 tons. Meanwhile, inventories are also likely to fall to new lows. Given this situation, pepper prices may continue to rise this year.
