Self-worth

(Baonghean) - A friend of mine said: “When someone realizes their life is worthless, they either end it themselves or they leave…”. I suddenly thought about myself, wondering if I have value?

I think that my job from birth until now is not to maintain and preserve a mass of bones, flesh, and fat in a quality way. And it is not my job to advance to a certain position, to lead an organization or gang somewhere to earn this or that, or to wear nice, fragrant clothes, drive expensive cars to go out on the street with my face looking up at the electric wires. My job is not like that.

Do you want a title? Do you want to be higher than the people around you? Do you want beautiful phrases on a card? Do you want to sit on a velvet sofa when somewhere else people are still working on the ground? Do you want to be a respectable person when most of the people around you are struggling to make a living to the point that they are willing to sacrifice their dignity? You seek happiness, do you think that when you achieve those things you will be happy? But are you sure that when you achieve what you want, will you be content with it or will you want something greater? Personally, I think there is no happiness in this world. If there was and it was for sale, the rich would have bought it all.

I think that my job, the meaning for me to live is to find the true nature of myself and what is happening around me, to recognize the beauty of humanity, the things that are truly valuable to humanity, to behave more and more honestly and correctly, even if I am just a grain of sand in the desert. Everything else that happens in my life, perhaps, is just to lead to that.

One day I will die, it is so simple and orderly. I will not wonder about the things that have happened in my life, because no matter how good or bad things have been, I have lived. Is it worth living to feel the fate of a human being?
