Lychee prices at the beginning of the 2026 season in Hai Phong reached 100,000 – 120,000 VND/kg for the white-egg variety, while the large, beautiful lychees are currently priced at 80,000 VND/kg, and contracts for export to the US remain stable at 40,000 VND/kg.

In early May 2026, lychee orchards in Ha Dong and Thanh Ha communes – the two localities with the largest lychee growing areas in Hai Phong city – began to be harvested. The price of early-season lychees was pushed high due to the limited supply; ripe lychees sold quickly.

Currently, the price of the largest, most uniform, and most beautiful white egg-shaped lychees remains at around 80,000 VND/kg at the orchard. The entire early lychee crop from orchards in Ha Dong is ordered and sold directly from the farm, eliminating the need to transport them to traders' weighing stations.

Following the harvesting of the white-fleshed lychee variety, the spiny-fleshed lychee orchards and some areas of the pink-fleshed lychee variety are now being harvested. Ha Dong commune has 1,600 hectares of lychee orchards, mainly early-ripening varieties – a popular choice among consumers because they ripen before the main harvest season.

In March 2026, the company signed an agreement with a production group to purchase large quantities of lychees at a stable price of 40,000 VND/kg, committing to continuous purchase for 5 years. This lychee price is double that of last year.

In 2026, unfavorable weather conditions resulted in lower lychee yields and production in Hai Phong compared to the previous year. However, high prices for lychees at the beginning of the season partially compensated for the losses of the growers.

In 2026, the entire city of Hai Phong will have approximately 9,500 hectares of lychee orchards. About 8,800 hectares will be planted mainly in the western part of the city (formerly Hai Duong province) in Ha Dong and Thanh Ha communes and Nguyen Trai ward. The eastern part (formerly Hai Phong province) will have about 700 hectares of lychee orchards, planted in An Truong commune.

The peak lychee harvest season is concentrated in May and June 2026. Lychee orchards in the western part of Hai Phong, especially in Ha Dong and Thanh Ha, are all cultivated using clean production processes to maintain the brand reputation of Thanh Ha lychees.
