According to the Machine Learning-based gasoline price forecasting model developed by the Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI), gasoline prices in the March 13th price adjustment period could continue to decrease by 2.5 - 2.7%. According to data analyst Doan Tien Quyet, VPI's model uses artificial neural networks (ANN) and supervised learning algorithms to make predictions. Accordingly, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline could decrease by 499 VND/liter, to 19,461 VND/liter. Meanwhile, RON 95-III gasoline could decrease by 551 VND/liter, to 19,849 VND/liter.

Diesel and fuel oil prices also tended to decrease.

Not only gasoline, but also diesel prices are predicted to decrease in this price adjustment period. Specifically, fuel oil could see the sharpest drop, up to 4.1%, bringing the price down to 16,447 VND/kg. Diesel could decrease by 1.8%, to 18,000 VND/liter, while kerosene would only decrease slightly by 0.3%, to 18,514 VND/liter.

VPI also forecasts that the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade are unlikely to make any adjustments to the fuel price stabilization fund this period. This could create conditions for fuel prices to continue to fall, benefiting consumers.
