Gasoline prices dropped by more than 600 VND/liter from the afternoon of December 25th.
From 3 PM on December 25th, the price of RON95-III gasoline decreased by 614 VND, and E5RON92 decreased by 523 VND/liter. Conversely, fuel oil was the only commodity to increase in price during this adjustment period.
Domestic fuel prices have been adjusted across the board.
According to an announcement from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, domestic retail gasoline and diesel prices were adjusted from 3 PM on December 25th. Accordingly, most gasoline and diesel products recorded a decrease, while mazut saw a slight increase.
The new maximum retail prices for commonly consumed petroleum products on the market are as follows:

During this price adjustment period, the regulatory agency decided not to make any contributions to or use any funds from the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund for any product.
The cause stems from fluctuations in the global market.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this price adjustment is based on the price movements of refined petroleum products worldwide during the period from December 18, 2025 to December 24, 2025. The global market is influenced by many factors, including the prospect of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, tensions in US-Venezuela relations, and attacks on energy infrastructure of both sides in the conflict in Eastern Europe.
These factors have caused the prices of refined petroleum products on the world market to fluctuate, with both increases and decreases. The average prices during the recent price adjustment period were as follows:
- RON92 gasoline(for blending E5RON92): $73.424/barrel, down $2.888/barrel (equivalent to 3.78%).
- RON95 gasoline: $74,370 per barrel, down $3,160 per barrel (equivalent to 4.08%).
- Diesel fuel 0.05S: $79,794 per barrel, down $1,234 per barrel (equivalent to 1.52%).
- Oil: $81,908 per barrel, down $1,288 per barrel (equivalent to 1.55%).
- Fuel oil 180CST 3.5S: 342,774 USD/ton, an increase of 7,790 USD/ton (equivalent to 2.33%).
The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance stated that this price adjustment plan aims to ensure that domestic gasoline and diesel prices accurately reflect world market trends, while harmonizing the interests of all market participants and encouraging the use of biofuels.
