Vinh City Youth Football Tournament: 'Goalfest' in the opening match

(Baonghean.vn) - In anticipation of the 20th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the upcoming 12th National Congress of the Youth Union, on the afternoon of July 20th, Vinh City Youth Union coordinated the organization of the 36th Traditional Youth Football Tournament in 2017.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the Department of Culture and Sports, the Provincial Youth Union; leaders from various departments of Vinh City; and 350 athletes from all 25 wards and communes.

The tournament is organized with the aim of creating a healthy, beneficial, and practical playground for children to interact and learn from each other; it serves as a positive supplement to the physical training movement, improving health and meeting the needs and aspirations of a large number of teenagers and children. At the same time, it is also a place to discover and nurture young football talents for Vinh City and Nghe An province.

In this year's tournament, the teams are divided into 9 groups, playing a round-robin format with a knockout system. The final match, closing ceremony, and awards presentation will take place on July 26th.

The matches were held on the artificial turf pitch in Hung Phuc ward.
