VTV Cup Pickleball Tournament 2025: Competition and fundraising for Central Vietnam
The VTV Cup 2025 Pickleball Tournament officially kicks off with a prize pool of over 1 billion VND, attracting 700 athletes. The event also launches a fundraising campaign to support people in the South Central region affected by floods.
On the afternoon of November 24th, Vietnam Television (VTV) held a ceremony to announce the VTV Cup 2025 Pickleball Tournament. This is not only a large-scale sporting event but also carries profound community significance as the Organizing Committee launched a fundraising program to support people in the South Central region who are suffering heavy losses due to floods.
Scale and specialized highlights
The VTV Pickleball Cup 2025 will take place from November 28th to 30th, 2025 at the US Pickleball complex in Hong Ha Ward, Hanoi. With a total prize pool exceeding 1 billion VND, the tournament will attract over 700 athletes, including many outstanding players such as Truong Vinh Hien, Do Minh Quan, Ly Hoang Nam, and other promising young talents.
Athletes will compete in nine events, including professional and amateur categories for various age groups. The tournament is held at a complex of 23 courts that meet US standards, ensuring professional competition conditions.
A notable technological highlight is the application of MK Vision's IRS system with 10 AI cameras, giving referees multiple viewing angles to make accurate decisions and ensure fairness in matches.
Spreading the spirit of sports for the community.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Do Duc Hoang, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television (VTV), emphasized that the tournament, with the message "Happier Every Day," is VTV's effort to meet the needs of viewers for enjoying sports, while also demonstrating VTV's commitment to connecting sports with community activities.
In the context of the historic floods affecting people in Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Khanh Hoa provinces, the Organizing Committee has launched a fundraising campaign. This activity will take place from November 24th to November 30th, 2025. At the ceremony, a representative from Hoa Linh Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company donated 100 million VND. All contributions will be transferred to the affected people through the Vietnamese Heart Fund of Vietnam Television.
For the first time, broadcast live on national television.
The VTV Cup 2025 Pickleball Tournament marks a significant milestone as it becomes the first pickleball tournament in Vietnam to be broadcast live on VTV2 and the VTVgo app. The opening and closing ceremonies, along with key matches, will be widely broadcast to audiences nationwide.
According to Mr. Phan Ngoc Tien, Head of the Sports Department of Vietnam Television (VTV), the rapid development of pickleball in Vietnam is the driving force behind VTV's strong investment. Following this tournament, the Organizing Committee plans to hold six more tournaments this year and produce television programs instructing how to play pickleball, contributing to promoting the sport in the community.
