(Baonghean.vn) - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong requested that departments within the Internal Affairs sector focus on coordinating and implementing effective measures to resolve newly arising issues at the grassroots level.

According to the report of the Internal Affairs Committee, in April 2017, the departments within the internal affairs sector coordinated the implementation of many measures and plans, achieving many results in various aspects of work. Important tasks were focused on accelerating the progress of resolution... therefore, internal affairs work in the area achieved many important results in various fields.

This included focusing on implementing various measures and intensifying high-intensity crackdowns on crime. Close coordination was maintained to prevent illegal human trafficking and illegal migration. Relevant agencies performed well in investigation, prosecution, trial, and civil enforcement, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to the law.

Inspection and monitoring activities were implemented comprehensively, promptly detecting and recommending solutions; fire prevention and control were carried out promptly; judicial work was performed effectively; many acts related to smuggling, trade fraud, and forest products were apprehended and prosecuted, resulting in the collection of a large amount of money for the state budget.

During the month, 142 cases involving 144 individuals committing economic and environmental crimes and violations were detected and apprehended (an increase of 45 cases and 43 individuals compared to the previous month). 120 cases of social vice violations were detected and apprehended, involving 505 individuals engaged in gambling. Notably, two individuals were arrested for gambling and organizing gambling activities via the internet, with a total amount equivalent to 900 billion VND.

Although Party committees, authorities, and relevant agencies have strengthened coordination and implemented numerous measures and plans to ensure security and order, many complex incidents continue to occur. A prime example is the spread of propaganda, distortion, and incitement by some extremist religious figures following the environmental pollution incident in the central coastal region caused by Hung Nghiep Formosa Co., Ltd., one year after the incident, disrupting security and order in the area.

Illegal trading, commercial fraud, smuggling, counterfeit goods, and violations related to food safety and hygiene are concerning, notably the Vinh City police discovering 650kg of fake coffee. Illegal migration activities of the Hmong people; and the increasing number of women marrying foreigners illegally in mountainous districts are negatively impacting public opinion...

At the conference, after hearing the report from the Internal Affairs Committee, the delegates discussed the achievements as well as the key directions and tasks of the Internal Affairs sector to be implemented in May 2017.

In his directive speech at the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong requested that the departments within the Internal Affairs bloc focus on coordinating and implementing various measures to ensure political security, social order and safety, and fire prevention, preventing any passive or unexpected situations from occurring; and promptly detect and strictly handle, in accordance with the law, any elements that oppose the government.

Implement measures to gather information, in order to advise Party committees and government leaders on effectively resolving newly arising issues at the grassroots level.

At the same time, effectively implement inspection work and resolve complaints and denunciations, especially cases involving large numbers of people; strengthen civil enforcement work, combat smuggling and commercial fraud, and prevent and combat all types of crime.
