Dissolve the Center for Supporting the Poor.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Ministry of Interior has issued a document requesting the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises in Rural Areas to dissolve the Center for Supporting the Poor in New Rural Development.
In Official Letter No. 54/BNV-TCPCP dated January 6, 2016, sent to the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises in Rural Areas, the Ministry of Interior stated: Based on the regulations of the law on associations and other relevant legal regulations, the Ministry of Interior finds that the establishment of a Center to Support the Poor in New Rural Development by the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises in Rural Areas does not comply with the provisions of the law.

To prevent complex activities that violate the Association's principles and objectives, and to prevent social disorder and insecurity caused by the Center's illegal activities, the Ministry of Interior requests the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises in Rural Areas to: Revoke the decision and dissolve the Center for Supporting the Poor in New Rural Development; Revoke the seal and the certificate of registered seal mẫu, and submit them to the police agency where the seal was registered; and develop a plan for handling the Center's assets, finances, and personnel.

Previously, on December 30, 2015, the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises in Rural Areas also issued Decision No. 116/2015-QDHH on the dissolution of the Center for Supporting the Poor in New Rural Development due to negative information published by central and local media outlets. The center's charitable activities lacked clear legal regulations, leading to negative public opinion and damaging the association's reputation.

In Nghe An province, the Center for Supporting the Poor in New Rural Development organized illegal activities using methods similar to multi-level marketing. These activities were subsequently reported by the press; the police investigated and suspended the center's operations.
