(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 21, authorities in Vinh City proceeded to dismantle and clear kiosks encroaching on the sidewalks of Quang Trung Street.

Recently, some households have arbitrarily occupied a portion of the sidewalk on Quang Trung Street, especially the area near Kim Lien Hotel...They expanded their premises and set up temporary kiosks to sell food and drinks. Furthermore, these households even set up tables and chairs and erected tents on the sidewalk of Quang Trung Street to conduct their business.

On the morning of April 21st, forces from Vinh City, including the City's Urban Order Management Team, coordinated with the wards of Quang Trung, Hong Son, Cua Nam, and Hung Chinh commune to clear the encroached area. The forces proceeded to dismantle the infringing items and barricades around the kiosks to prevent re-occupation, restoring the area to its original state for the project as well as the sidewalk of Quang Trung Street.

Mr. Dinh Xuan Truong, Chairman of the Quang Trung Ward People's Committee, said: Before proceeding with the demolition, the local authorities had repeatedly reminded, educated, and implemented commitment signing with the four households encroaching on the area. However, the households still did not comply, forcing city forces to carry out the demolition and take punitive measures.

In the coming period, Quang Trung ward will continue to deploy forces to monitor and prevent the re-occupation of this area, ensuring the land is available for the project as well as maintaining urban civility in Vinh.
