* Storm No. 2 with strong gusts of wind damaged 3 cotton trees and 1 ancient banyan tree in hamlet 8.Dien Thanh commune, Dien Chau districtcollapsed and blocked a one-way street on National Highway 1A (Vinh - Hanoi), causing traffic congestion.
Dien Chau District mobilized more than 50 people including traffic police, commune police and local people to use vehicles to move the trees off the road. After more than 2 hours of effort, all the trees were moved off the road, ensuring safe traffic for vehicles.
Storm No. 2 damaged 3,000 hectares of summer-autumn crops in Dien Chau. Specifically, 2,000 hectares of sesame were ready for harvest, 550 hectares of corn, 200 hectares of watermelon, and the rest were vegetables. In addition, dozens of hectares of shrimp farms were also sweetened, and power was lost, making it impossible to provide oxygen for the shrimp. About 500 tents and 400 houses had their roofs blown off.

The full extent of the damage has not yet been fully estimated, but strong winds have caused many trees to fall, dozens of electric poles and thousands of meters of high-voltage and low-voltage lines to be broken and scattered. In particular, many crop areas have been damaged, and many rice fields are deeply submerged in water.
This morning, July 17, the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control of Nam Dan district and the grassroots level assigned members, mobilized militia and self-defense forces, police officers, and organizations to directly participate in damage recovery work, along with households and functional agencies to clear up fallen trees, reconnect broken power lines, and clear traffic safety corridors on national highways, provincial roads, and hamlets, ensuring people's daily life and travel.

* In Quynh Luu district,Storm No. 2, strong winds from level 11 to level 12 and causing heavy to very heavy rain. Many areas of vegetables of the people were damaged by strong winds. Mr. Nguyen Van Tue - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luong commune said that the storm caused more than 100 hectares of vegetables including scallions, bitter melon, cucumbers of the people to fall down, about 200 casuarina trees blocking the sea waves were uprooted.
According to records this morning, in the district, there are nearly 350 hectares of vegetables of people in the coastal communes that have been collapsed and severely damaged. Of which, Quynh Minh has 146 hectares, Quynh Luong has 100 hectares, Quynh Bang has more than 100 hectares.
In addition to the damage to vegetables, hundreds of trees were uprooted in the district, including over 70 perennial trees and about 400 casuarina trees that act as wave barriers, and hundreds of hectares of corn were broken; more than 200 houses with corrugated iron roofs had their roofs blown off.
Electric poles and wires were damaged. Notably, a house in Quynh Thang commune collapsed due to a fallen tree. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Immediately after the storm, district leaders went to the communes with heavy damage to direct the recovery.

Immediately after the storm passed, Tan Ky district leaders directly went to the grassroots to inspect and direct localities to overcome the consequences.
The work of clearing fallen trees along the roads was carried out, limiting traffic congestion. Residential areas promoted the spirit of neighborliness to help each other repair houses and roofs to stabilize their lives soon. The storm also caused thousands of trees to fall, damaged 500 hectares of crops, flooded 400 hectares of summer-autumn rice, and killed 2,000 poultry.
Immediately after the storm, Hung Nguyen district authorities went to the scene of the damage and directed localities to support people to urgently overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters./.
