The Director of the Nghe An Department of Tourism requests early retirement.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Nghe An Provincial Department of Tourism, has submitted a request for early retirement in accordance with Government Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP.
On the morning of January 14th, in an interview with Nghe An Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Nghe An Provincial Department of Tourism, stated that he had submitted an application for early retirement to facilitate the restructuring and streamlining of the organization in accordance with Government Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP.
In accordance with Plan No. 01 dated December 13, 2024, of the Steering Committee of Nghe An province on summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18 of the Central Committee and orienting the reorganization of the political system's organizational structure in Nghe An province to be streamlined, effective, and efficient; and Plan No. 1022 dated December 19, 2024, of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on the reorganization and streamlining of the government apparatus in Nghe An province, the Department of Culture and Sports and the Department of Tourism will merge into the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong studied the 2019 Labor Code, the Social Insurance Law, and Government Decree No. 178/2024 dated December 31, 2024, on policies and regulations for officials, civil servants, employees, and members of the armed forces, in the context of restructuring the political system and implementing the Provincial Party Standing Committee's announcement regarding retirement for officials. Therefore, he decided to request early retirement in accordance with current regulations.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong is currently a representative of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term. In addition to his application for early retirement, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong also requests to resign from his position as a representative of the Provincial People's Council.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, born on March 8, 1964, is from Vinh Son commune, Anh Son district, Nghe An province. He currently holds the position of Director of the Nghe An Department of Tourism.
In recent years, Nghe An's tourism industry has seen significant progress. On May 23, 2023, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 1439/QD.UBND approving the Nghe An Tourism Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2035. The strategic objective is to leverage the potential and advantages of its geographical and cultural location, abundant natural resources, and rich cultural heritage to create a breakthrough in Nghe An's tourism development, gradually making tourism a key economic sector and contributing positively to the province's economic growth and structural transformation.
By 2030, Nghe An will become one of the tourism centers of the North Central region and an attractive destination in Vietnam and Southeast Asia with unique tourism products bearing the distinctive cultural imprint of Nghe An. Tourism will fundamentally become the province's key economic sector, creating momentum to promote the development of other industries and fields; contributing 9-10% to the province's GRDP.
