The Director of the Nghe An Department of Health awarded Certificates of Commendation to two doctors for their timely intervention in saving a person who suffered a stroke while playing volleyball.
The Director of the Nghe An Department of Health has just signed Decision No. 373/QD-SYT awarding Certificates of Commendation from the Director of the Department of Health to Dr. Tran Van Bien - Deputy Director of Hoan My Vinh Hospital and Dr. Nguyen Cao Viet - Doctor of the General Surgery Department 01, Vinh City General Hospital.
Information from the Nghe An Department of Health: On March 19th, Dr. Le Thi Hoai Chung signed a Decision of the Director of the Department of Health to commend Dr. Tran Van Bien - Deputy Director of Hoan My Vinh Hospital and Dr. Nguyen Cao Viet - Doctor of General Surgery Department 01, Vinh City General Hospital for their outstanding achievements in promptly providing emergency care to patients in the community, contributing to saving lives and spreading medical ethics.



The timely and accurate actions of the two doctors clearly demonstrated their sense of responsibility, medical ethics, and professional competence, thereby strongly spreading the message that doctors not only work in hospitals but are always ready to save lives anywhere, anytime, saving lives without waiting for the right conditions.

Previously, as reported by Nghe An Newspaper and Radio & Television, on the afternoon of March 17th, in Vinh Hung ward, while walking with his child near his home, Dr. Tran Van Bien – Deputy Director of Hoan My Vinh Hospital – heard people shouting for help from the volleyball court and immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a victim who had suffered a stroke while playing volleyball, maintaining the procedure continuously for about 15 minutes while waiting for an ambulance.

Later, Dr. Nguyen Cao Viet (Department of General Surgery 01, Vinh City General Hospital) also arrived and coordinated to assist in the emergency. Thanks to the efforts, timeliness, and expertise of the doctors and nurses, a miracle happened when the patient gradually regained a pulse and breathing, reclaiming a precious chance at life.
