Nghe An currently has 2 publishing houses: Nghe An Publishing House and Vinh University Publishing House; 19 establishments licensed to operate in printing and publishing, 1 unit granted a certificate of registration for printing activities, and 4 units licensed to distribute publications.

Overall, publishing activities in the province have remained stable and grown in both the number of titles and copies; the content and quality meet the needs of readers. Many publications have been published serving political tasks, disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and commemorating important national holidays and anniversaries.

Many publications with high-quality propaganda content were released, such as: "The Socio-Economic Development Strategy of Nghe An Province for the period 2015-2020 and Vision to 2030," which served as a document for the Spring Dinh Dau Investor Meeting and for the province's investment promotion efforts. The book "Homeland in Uncle Ho's Heart" was published to commemorate the 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to his hometown...

The printing industry in the province maintained a stable growth rate, increasing by 5.26% compared to the same period last year. The number of printing establishments increased only slightly (mainly privately owned). High-tech scientific and technological advancements continued to be a focus of investment for printing establishments. Overall, many small and medium-sized printing businesses have become more dynamic, and the income of their employees has gradually improved.

Besides the achievements, the publishing, printing, and distribution sector also reveals the following difficulties and limitations: a shortage of staff, limited financial resources, a declining trend in publishing partnerships, decreasing print runs, difficulties in book distribution, slow return on investment, complex issues of piracy and illegal printing; and uneven distribution between lowland and mountainous areas... all of which have affected publishing, printing, and distribution activities in the province.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Kha Van Tam - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - acknowledged the achievements of the publishing, printing, and distribution industry in the first six months of 2017 and emphasized the key tasks for the last six months of the year.

Accordingly, we will continue to thoroughly implement Conclusion No. 19-TB/TW dated December 29, 2016, which announces the conclusions of the Secretariat of the Central Committee on continuing to implement Directive No. 42 of the Secretariat of the 9th Central Committee on improving the overall quality of publishing activities, promoting the dissemination of laws to implement and apply legal regulations on publishing, printing, and distribution; and organizing professional training and legal knowledge enrichment in the field of publishing, printing, and distribution for those subject to the Publishing Law.

In coordination with relevant units, we will comprehensively implement inspection and supervision work, while strictly handling violations in publishing, printing, and distribution activities... ensuring a healthy production and business environment, and striving to achieve the goals and plans for 2017.
