Lap Thach parish organizes weekly mass
(Baonghean.vn) - Through the prayer ritual, Bishop Nguyen Van Vien and the priests participating in the mass invited the parishioners present to pray for the victims of the Covid-19 pneumonia pandemic to be healed soon.
On the morning of March 1, at Lap Thach Parish in Nghi Thach Commune, Nghi Loc District, a culminating mass of the Week of Adoration to thank Jesus took place. Attending the mass were Bishop Nguyen Van Vien (Auxiliary Bishop of Vinh Diocese) and many invited priests, hometown priests and parishioners inside and outside Lap Thach Parish and neighboring parishes of Cua Lo Diocese.

As usual, at the climax Mass, the Parish celebrated the sacraments, rituals and homilies with the content of reminding the importance of the adoration week; calling on the parishioners to join in offering the Mass, turning to Jesus in a solemn and reverent manner and praying for the success of the climax day of the parish's adoration week.
In particular, through the prayer ceremony, Bishop Nguyen Van Vien and the priests participating in the mass invited the parishioners present to pray for the victims of the Covid-19 pneumonia pandemic to be healed soon; for researchers and doctors to soon find solutions to prevent the epidemic and pray for those who have passed away from the epidemic. At the same time, there were practical actions to join hands to repel the pandemic according to the recommendations of health agencies and experts.

Nearly 20 km southeast of Xa Doai Bishop's Palace, Lap Thach Parish, belonging to Cua Lo Diocese, was established in 1919 from the mother parish of Lang Anh (Nghi Phong commune, Nghi Loc district), with 3 sub-parishes (Lap Thach, Dong Thanh, Cao Thach), about 4,000 parishioners; currently, Father Giuse Pham Ngoc Quang is the parish priest. The life of parishioners in the area is mainly agriculture, with some service occupations.
