Yen Dai Parish opens its week-long parish worship service.

(Baonghean.vn) - At the opening ceremony, through the rituals, the parish reiterated the importance of the Eucharistic Adoration Week; calling on the community of parishioners to participate in the Holy Mass in a solemn and respectful manner.

On June 21st, Yen Dai Parish in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh City, held the opening ceremony for its 96th annual Eucharistic Adoration and Reparation Week.

The attendees included Bishop Nguyen Van Vien, Auxiliary Bishop of the Vinh Diocese, priests from the local area, the Cau Ram Deanery, and a large number of parishioners from within and outside Yen Dai Parish, Cau Ram Deanery.

Located in the northeast of Vinh City, Yen Dai Parish was separated and established from Lang Anh Parish (Nghi Loc District) in 1923, belonging to Cau Ram Deanery (Vinh City); with 3 sub-parishes (Dong Kien, Dong Yen and Dong Tan), with approximately 5,500 parishioners, currently under the parish priest of Father Louis Nguyen Van Nga.

Over the years, the lives of the parishioners in the area have undergone significant changes, and the majority of them are devout Christians who love their country.

It is understood that the parish recently completed the final stages of the parish church construction in time to welcome the week-long Eucharistic adoration.

This is also the largest modern Catholic church in Vietnam, with a total construction cost of nearly 100 billion VND, mainly raised from the community and contributions from benefactors and parishioners working away from home.

The pilgrimage week is expected to last for three consecutive days, with the closing Mass taking place on the afternoon of June 23, 2019.
